I have a few options im looking at for selecting the right turbo for my Build
This is the car so far

I am looking at a few possible turbos
A Garrett T3 04E in either a 57 Trim or a 60 Trim with a .63 AR
The 60 trim model is about 100 cheaper can i get away with this?
Or
Is the extra money spent worth it to goto the GT3076R ?
Im aiming to build it for 350-400 HP and keep it dependable as possible
Just looking for some advice from some of the guys that are running turbo LD9s
Borg Warner is another option from my readings but what are your opinions on these

for 350-400whp you should be able to do that with a 30r pretty easily but for over that I would recommend the 35r or a similar Borg Warner turbo as far as size goes. I'm running a t60-1 .82a/r and should be around 500whp but if I were to do it again I would have went with a 35r to be able to hit my goals on less boost with a better spool up.

im using a gt3076r as well, and it was working great but we will hopefully have some #'s with it soon enough

You can easily reach 500CHP with a GT30R just fine.

Go ahead and dive into your corky bell and tell how much power you can make per lb/min of air flow @ 90F using the HHV of 93 octane fuel combusted @ 12.8 AFR.(HP/lb/min@90F,12.8AFR,92 OC) I'm gonna place some pretty good bets you don't even know what means. So I'll answer it for you.....you get a little over 10HP/lb/min. Now go and tell me how much corrected air flow you get out of a GT3076R? I'll answer that too, you get ~52.5lb/min @ 2.5bar absolute. So, sorry...reality check, a GT3076R can run over 500CHP @ ~20lbs of boost. Please don't come on here empowered with your read'n skills and spew BS.

Sensitive much? I mean, Josh, my reply wasn't even to you - it was for the OP. Sorry you took it that way and got butthurt about it, but that wasn't my intent. As you have just shown in your rant, a little research, reading, and math go a long way. It's the whole "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime" thing.
We can sit here and tell him what turbo is going to work on an engine manufactured by GM with 146 cc of displacement and he'll get an answer. Or we can teach him how to figure out what turbo to use for
any application he'll need to look up for the rest of his life.

I have no problem with selection of Turbos but there are so many out there i would like to narrow down the selection process
Nothing beats feedback from users running the Turbos im looking at
I can read all day but nothing beats actual results
I work as a Diesel Mechanic and large motors, but never had to select a turbo for a small displacement motor

When someone puts down 500whp with a 30r on the LD9 i'll retract my previous statement but until then it looks like running larger turbos than what we should technically have to in order to achieve HP goals is the norm.

My bad man, I thought you were telling ME I needed to learn how to read a C-map cause I mentioned his HP mark can be made easily with a GT30R.

Take into account for our extreme lack of widespread GOOD tuning capabilities..and that should answer why you havn't seen those #'s posted. Lets also not discount that all the 30R's I've seen on here are all well into the mid 12's. If you really looked at the C-map of GT30 and GT35's there is only a 50hp potential difference. Possibly a smidgen more but you gotta end up at just the right point in the map. So, I really don't see how your claim can stand up. If you think it is possible with a 35R...it should be just as possible on a 30R within reason.

Fetter is also running a 35r and he was around 500hp. I think once david gets his car done and tuned correctly it will be well over 400 as well!
^no, I'm not talking about those cars...I'm talking about GT30R turbo'd cars. I know you guys are running a 35R and that also pretty much proves my point on the two platforms being very similar in HP capability.

David has a 30r i believe. And i was agreeing that the capabilites are the same. David just needs some tuning and he will be right up with all the 35r guys.

Im running a precision pt61 ar.60 t4 turbo right now on a welded str manifold.I suggest pricion because i have never had any boost issues.
My comments were made taking into consideration the tuning capabilities of our cars as well as the LD9's efficiency... I just do not see a 30r making anywhere near 500whp with what is currently and readily available on the LD9...
