The turbo manifold i'm going to have is a stainless steel log style meant for internal wastegates. Is it possible to take it to a shop and have them weld on an external wastegate flange?

yes, absolutely.

one of mine is just like yours, stainless steel and meant for use with an internally gated turbo. the turbo i have is internally gated but i also have a different manifold thats for it. someday i would like to get an externally gated turbo and run that setup instead...

i asked vulcan turbo here awhile back if they would just sell me an external wg flange and they said yes, certainly. offered to even weld it on as well. so thats an option if you'd like...
