hey guys i just finshed my turbo. and today i started it up for the first time in three mounths. the car fired right up and the turbine was spining. but i noticed when giving the car gas that the turbo didnt start to bulid presure.my gauge just read vac is it because there wasnt a load on the motor. also my bov was venting nor wastegate. this is my first bulid so idk what to expect.. any help is great thanks.. oh and the car was idleing smooth and it wasnt cutting out ran fine
sounds normal to me, mine does not build boost til under load, if i rev it pretty high i can get the BOV to blow off but wont build boost until driving.
but do u hear it spool up when reving it. cause i dont hear anything
not really, go drive it...

nope dont hear anything, drive it, make sure you are tuned first but you will have to drive it.
hey guys thanks for the answers.. liek i sai dthis is my first bulid so im still learning. but ill get the exhaust finshed and go try it. thanks
i dont know about you.... but my bov sounds the loudest when i am not at WOT.... and i also hear my turbo spooling and sucking in air while driving around normal... just floor it and see if you build boost... an easy way to get your car to Blow-off from a dead stop would be to do short revs a couple of times for a split second and then rev it hard and release... that will make even big boy turbos spool up and blow-off....
...I am the BEST at what I do...
"I guess your right[BlueBoost]. Me and my slow car are failers."
On my car boost doesn't build unless I'm moving. I can get the blow off to go by revving if I really try to, but I don't like free revving my engine so I never do that.
Yours sounds fine, just get it tuned and take it on the street and see what happens. Good luck man!

alright thank you for the help
yeah i just got my first boosted LD9 yesterday and i was thinking the same thing, but yeah it doesnt boost til you drive
haha well at least im not the only one. but thanks man
ha no problem, how many pounds are you planning on running?? What turbo are you running?
like 5-6. and its a 50 trim
nice, were trying to go 50 on an SRT over here, just not ready to do it yet, I only boosted about 8lbs the other night but everything is not set up yet.
yeah its a tight fit. i just fired it up to see if it would even start im still waiting for my wideband to come in and i had to make a custom cooling bar cause my wastegate flange was right under it. and one coner leaks so i got to take it all apart and fix the weld.i hope to get it on the road in the next few weeks.. how boost feel on the cavi??
boost feels amazing

i cant wait to boost in my car. i drove a srt and sti. im just curious to see how it is in a j-body. its almost ready to hit the road just a few lil things left to finsh..
am curious as well as am planning this in the near future... will be watching this.
yea it was a fun project as long as you have a other car to drive. and one thing that i can say is make sure you have all the parts before hand. everyone told me that and i didnt listen it sucks waiting for stuff to come in and it just is a delay in progress. what kind of turbo are you planning on running??
