So I have decided to run another water/meth/alchohol injection kit on my turbo setup, just have a quick few questions Im hoping people can help me with.
Before when I was sc'd, I tapped a tb spacer for the nozzle. I want to keep it post tb just to be cautious of the sensors, but I was wondering have any turbo guys tapped their intake manifold? I have an ho mani so not like Id be tapping into the craptastic plastic stock manifold. If, where would be the best spot for the nozzle, like right after the tb or farther in the plenum somewhere?
My other dilema is I need a few parts for the kit since its a pieced together kit. They were old parts of mine that I never used since I bought the coolngmist kitbefore , that Im getting back from a buddy. Heres what I have and what I need:
Resivoir
nylon hose
manual boost switch
150psi pump
Basically all I need is a check valve(they arent realy needed if the nozzle is pre tb correct?) and a nozzle. Nozzle is easy to find, but could I use a check valve from like mcmaster carr or some plumbing place? I think buying it from alchy places their like $70 alone.
Any input is appreciated
Ok well I actualy just checked the coolingmist site, they have the check valves for only like $32 and then the push lock fittings are like $5 each so thats no problem then.
Anyone have anything for my other question about tapping the manifold?
I've not tapped a manifold, i actually put mine on the cold side IC piping. May I ask why you are concerned about sensors? If you have the correct sized nozzle and the correct activation point, you won't shouldn't have any problems. FWIW, I have about 2k miles of meth injection on my solstice spraying past various sensors (ECT, IAT, MAP). No problems yet, but i can guarentee mine is set up such that no liquid is accumulating - its all vapor. It helps if you position the nozzle into the intake stream, by that i mean "spray against the wind" lol.
I know people including myseld have had problems with meth injection on LD9's spraying before the TB and the TPS sensor. Once I started spraying after the TB issues were gone. I never believed it, but now I do.
I'm thinking spraying in the manifold fro the bottem so it sprays straight up into the path of the air. Right after the TB.

Yep, I damaged a tps as well spraying it pre tb. I wasnt going to tap an m34 for it so I used a tb spacer, but I dont mind tapping an ho manifold and I have a spare going on soon. Yea I was thinking on the bottom of the plenum so its spraying up into where the air is going into the runners, that sounds like the plan.
