Deciding on turbo for built LD9

So I am starting to getting ready to put the car away in a month or so and am still kinda up in the air about the turbo I'm gonna run. I figured there is more knowledge/experience on here so I thought I would start here. I am thinking about a T3/TO4E 57 trim 60 A/R. I see there are other A/R options available for it but it appears the 60 a/r is what usually comes on it. I'm looking for a turbo that will give me 300-350whp with around 12-15psi. I don't want brutle turbo lag and I guess thats one of my main questions right now. Wondering what a typical spool up would be for a similar turbo (I know there are going to be many variables that can change this but a rough estimate would be nice). I'm hoping to have full boost by 4000rpm so that is something I need to find out before I purchase this turbo. I know ball bearing is the way to go but as a starter turbo I think this will work for me and then sometime I can upgrade to a GT35R. Anyone that can help me out I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

T3/T4 60 trim (Stage 3 wheel) with a .63 A/R will net you the goal you want..... We were making those numbers on Fetter's original setup with that turbo. A 60-1 will also do it....

yea a t3/to4e 60trim. .63a/r is what i used to make 362whp on 14lbs, boost came on at 4k, if you go with a big cam and rev it out to 7k i would go .82ar i love the power the .82 vs the .63 makes on the top end.

I'm looking for decent power up top too cause I do the 1/4 mile mostly (put almost 100 passes this year and 50 last year) but its still my daily driver for the summer and want to still have some power down low for street use and not have to rev to 7000 in town between street lights. As for cams I am kinda undecided yet, may look into the HO cams (have to wait and see). I would love to rev to 7000rpm but it really depends on the power I make. If I can get the power I want and only rev to 6600rpm (what my redline is set at now) then I will be happy. Wondering if there would be a noticable difference between the 57 trim and the 60 trim. I was thinking the 57 trim may deliver the boost earlier than the 60 trim and would therefore be a little more street friendly.

My power goal is not the main thing I am looking for. I am looking for the power to get me into the 12's and feel that a decent turbo setup on a built LD9 with around 350whp should get me there. If I could get 350whp on my stock cams I would leave them and just build my valvetrain to compliment a turbo. But since I'm gonna have everything apart it my be best to throw some cams in it while I'm at it.

You could start with our Super 20G, very affordable and capable of up to 500 engine HP. It's really in its sweet spot in that 300-400 HP range, and will hit full spool at about 3300 RPM on your torquey 2.4L engine. Nice thing is, it uses the same flange as the GT35R, so if you do go to that big boy later, the transition will be easy.

Additionally, the Super 20G features a very effective internal wastegate that can save you hundred$ of dollar$ and add great ease to your installation by eliminating the need for an external wastegate.
