ok, so this is a dumb question i know, but i've never used a wideband before so i'm not sure. My setup is going to be the m45 S/C with stock pulley, secret cams, and msd coils. I don't plan on going any farther than that, so do i really need a wideband A/F gauge or would a narrow band be fine for this app?

You don't need a wideband. However if you are going to put a gauge in, put a wideband in. Narrowbands are useless. Wideband or nothing.

I was gonna stick with the gm tune at least for awhile, see this is my dilemma, if i'm gonna get a tune that'll be at least $200, i might as well run a smaller pulley on meth, but i dunno how comfortable i am running that on stock internals, and i definately don't wanna pull the engine and burn another $1k on a built engine, maybe i'll throw a volt meter in for my third gauge for my system.

Everyone should have a wideband. It's VERY good information to have.

HaHa A built engine is going to be way more than a grand. A smaller pulley and meth is just fine on stock internals as long you don't go lean which there is no way you would with meth unless something was messed up for example a bad injector. However without a wideband all you can do is say it SHOULD be fine but you will have no way of knowing if it really is or not.

lol i had $900 is just my bottom end with the oil pump swap
well, the motor does have 115k on it, that's why i'm worried about the stock internals, it still runs like a top, but it'd be a crap shoot with those miles.

yea i was just thinkin of the money for forged pistons and rods, i think i'll just start with getting the s/c installed and reflashed and run it until i get bored with that extra power, and then i'll get the wideband to go along with a 2.5 or 2.6 pulley and meth, it should get around 8-9lbs of boost on that setup right?

contact karo for the wideband, Send Karo an e-mail or call him with the part you want. Mention my name and he will get you the best price possible. If you found the item cheaper shipped to your door step elsewere, let him know and he will BEAT that price.
trust me on this, i got mine through him, and there is no way in hell that even ebay could beat the price. plus he told me that some places are not licensed dealers and if any part of it craps out, then you are out of luck. my first wb controller was bad, i called innovate, they asked who my dealer was, yep he is on the list, new one on the way.
im pretty sure that he could do a rod/piston/wb combo too. shoot him an email for sure! assuming this is for the 03 in your profile and not the 01?

I'll have to shoot him an email, i wanna order few other odds and ends from him anyway. It's for the 01 Z24, but i know he has most of the same stuff for that motor as the eco
