here is my list for my 03 ecotec 2.2 cavi turbo

is this list complete, for my 2.2 ecotec 2003 cavi? im looking for low pressure without having to rebuild any engine internals except maybe pistons.

Oil Fitting Kit
Manifold Gasket
T3 Turbocharger
5w-30 synthetic oil
Turbo Downpipe
Fuel Pump Tank Kit......I have no idea what this is
Fuel Management
Gasket Sealer
Intercooler Kit...this puppy looks oh so nice
Downpipe Flange
Wastegate
Boost controller
Plenum and TB
Oil Filter
Rubber Hosing
Charge Tube
BOV
Manifold
BOV Flange Pipe

It turns out its around 1000 dollars for the entire setup. This is a huge difference between the Hahn kit if I go custom. Just making sure I have all the parts that I need to fit my 2003 cavi ecotec 2.2l engine. I am going to have EVILution install it for me so he has all the tools plus some other little things I might need but I just want to see if this is the entire parts list that is major that I need. Thank you and have a great day!

Most of that will either not fit or wear out with in a year.

i think you need to slow your roll and take a different approach at this. dont be a cheap ass and expect it to run well.

i see you have been blasting this all over the forums. read into turbocharging and what it costs.

also do a lot of research. so much research to be done. you cant just say hey i want turbo and throw it on and go. it does not work that way. no matter how bad you want boost, its one thing you dont rush. could cost you your motor.

alright well i give up easily so i give up on boost. it turns out to be way more expensive than i thought it would be and every site i try reading on it is very very confusing to me. i understand some of it like new fuel injectors, fuel lines running from tank to turbo, turbo itself, turbo manifold, intercooler is easy to understand, and a downpipe going from the headers to the exhaust system. but it seems to be much much more confusing to that.

i will just save up to get a kit and wheels for my car and be done with it. stock ecotec is fast enough for now i guess until i become rich.

justin buddy, relax, i think most of us ( i know i was) were just like you at one point. Hell that point wasn't even that long ago for me. take vince's advice, slow down, take a step back and take a look at things. It's not that it's that confusing, you just need to do more research, we all wanna go fast but it's not easy and it's not cheap.
at some point,(since you said "until i get rich")ur gonna have to take a step back and think- how much money am i really willing to dump into a dead platform economy car? i know i did. no one's tellin you not to do it, they're really just trying to help. don't waste ur money man, if ur going to turbo do it right, do the research, buy the quality parts. that way you only have to do it once, and you won't willingly @!#$ up something on your car. not tryin to rant man, but do some research then decide where you wanna go with this car.

Where in PA do you live? I live in carlisle PA. If you are close enough we can meet up and let you see my cav. And I could explain things to you and help you with the turbo stuff if need be. Just like everyone else said there is alot more to than just throwing a turbo on and going...I have done several custom turbo kits for friends and their friends.. I just got done doing a custom turbo kit and on a guys 91 KA 240sx. And put down 309whp and 303wtq on 10psi.

If you're looking to go cheaper, not really cheap, look for a used volvo turbo or a holset turbo off of a diesel. volvo uses garrett or aireserch turbos, and I believe they are all t3's. You could use cobalt ss injectors, a custom length feed that you could get off ebay, it’ll be around 16 inches for an eco. Get a bar and plate intercooler, get exhaust piping from jegs for charge pipes and also buy your downpipe pipes while your there. I spent $170 on charge pipes and exhaust pipe for my downpipe. For a blow off valve look into DSM 1G bov's, you van usually get them for around $20. You can do a decent setup for around $1400.

x2

read the boost, and part list faq's in the boost & performance forums.

I also recommend picking up a Hayne's manual for your car A.S.A.P. (not only is it a great resource, but you can learn quite a bit about your car just from reading the manual)

Anything that will BOLT to your engine, or will bolt to ENGINE RELATED parts (i.e., turbo, manifold, downpipe, intercooler piping..etc) I suggest you do EXTENSIVE research as to what will fit on your car. Nothing worse than getting a manifold and turbo from ebay that have two different flanges. (doh!)

As for ebay, I'd suggest fuel pumps, oil feed/drain kits, BOV's, etc....

If you want to save money, I'd personally recommend buying that stuff by yourself, and then getting the following from a reputable company:

- Turbo
- mani
- downpipe
- fmu, or tuning software
- intercooler and piping (that will work for your car)

There's so much about this stuff to learn, and unfortunately, if you go custom, you need to learn before you purchase. With a pre-built kit, you can learn as you install.

Keep reading man, you will get it.

PM me if you have any Q's.

x2.

If you are up north in PA, RD Fabs is a few hours away. You will pay more to have them build you a custom turbo kit, but you wouldnt have to worry about it being done wrong. You give them the car N/A and you'll get it back boosted and tuned.

Im hoping to head up there for a few days in November for some fab work(im waiting to hear from Cody on a confirmed set of dates), im sure it wouldnt be a problem if ya tagged along to see the shop and their work.

RD Fabs is about 6 hours away from you then(Port Byron, NY) and im halfway between both of you(just south of the NY border). For the cost contact either Cody(RDFabs i believe is his handle now) or Agent Omega they handle customer inquires. Ryan(the owner) does very nice work and they are a great bunch of guys which is one of the reasons im going to them for what i want done.

Last i knew they tuned too or were atleast looking into it.

Sidenote:
QBE(Qwibby) lives in Lititz and is experienced in turboed ecotecs.

Good stuff that youre at least trying. I'm pretty new to the tuning game myself. I agree with what everyones saying, slow down, do all the research till you know it front and back, and buy quality parts. Do a HUGE amount of research. And look for deals, believe me, you'll find good deals on quality parts if you look and wait long enough. I know a guy who his parents own a garage, he's never paid more than 50 bucks for his turbos. It took him a year, but he scoured junkyards over a quarter of the region in indiana where i live. Buy your stuff slowly! If it takes a year to get everything you need, then it takes a year. It'll be way more worth it to have a rocking turbo setup thatll last you for years, then throw it on and it only last you 6 months. Good stuff youre trying though
