I was talking with Wade about this and we both think that it is something that would you would only benefit from it. This will be a phenolic spacer 3/16-1/4 thick that will go between the supercharger and the manifold. It will come with a laser cut gasket as well. I can make it a little thicker but it starts to raise the blower to high and you will have to buy a different belt. If you are interested in this please let me know. If you think its a waste of money please put that down as well, with a reason.
I will have a proto done here soon.

1/4 - 3/16 of an inch is way to slim to mount a meth nozzle in. Plus it would be better to drill and tap aluminum then the phenolic material. The point of this spacer is mainly to stop or slow the heat transfer between the manifold and blower.
I think this may be more along the lines of what you would be after.

Could be a good idea....But may run into belt issues. However if it is just right, it may be tighter when running smaller pulleys.
^^^ That's what I am thinking. I went ahead and ordered 3/16 and we will see what it does. I know on the head to manifold it dropped NA temps by around 20-30*. I will have a couple to show here shortly.

Anyone with a M62 would be stupid not to want one of these. The charger gets super hott. My only concern would be hood clearance for those who have the stock map sensor in the top. I know on my kit with out the sensor I barely have any clearance with my evo hood.

ADREED! I still have the map sensor in my charger just to plug the hole. I have a stock hood but mine is also on a 2.4 Maybe to try and figure clearance you could start layering rmicro fiber towels on top of the sensor and gently closing the hood until it you notice it become difficult then measure the thickness of your pile. Not very scientific but it would give you a rough idea how much room you have to work with.

Just a thought: it'd probably be easier to grab a chunk of silly putty (or something similar) and stick it on the blower with a touch of oil on top of the putty (so it sticks to the blower and not the hood) and shut the hood. It should deform to the lowest amount of clearance (like when you press down after the latch has already caught) and won't decompress like the towels will after you smash it.
^^^^^^Great idea

the map on the snout of the s/c rubs the rk ram air hood
I have zzp's and i like it alot, recommend using something like this for-sure.
You know I'm interested in this.
I too would be interested.
Like stated, be dumb not to, and gives me an excuse to pull the blower off and clean it up.
i wish i could run one. my tb sensors rub on my hood as it is.

Exactly. So the thinner this could be the better. Now I understand the thinner the less effective, but with how hott these things get anything will help. Although im not suprised yours hits with the type of hood you have. My VIS invader rubbed my rk intake

what about having the super charger mating surface milled down a little bit in order for the spacer to fit for the ones that have hood clearance issues?
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
Got the material in, should have one cut here before the end of the week. Anyone want to test one for a discount? They will be on the site for $60 but I need a test pig and will give you %15 off.

I would gladly test it for you Mark but I honestly cant since I don't have the IAT sensor located in the air stream. Have you given any thought into doing say 2 thicknesses one for the guys with aftermarket hoods the other for those with stock hoods like myself. I am thinking say a 3/8" thickness for the thick one.
