LD9 turbo manifold
Sunday, October 25, 2009 4:26 PM
I have been looking around to see what is out there for turbo manifolds for the 2.4. I see vulcan makes a log style manifold but I have been told they are not the best type of manifold for making horsepower. I guess what I'm asking is if a log style manifold like the one vulcan makes would support 300-350whp? If anyone knows where to get a better style (mini ram or a ram) could you let me know.

Fetter can make you one, he is the man!

A log mani should easily get 300-350 hp

yeah... i dont understand the hate for the log style, they have been pretty nice to this community.

plenty of people have hit 300whp with a log style.

look up atomic fabrications as well, he's been making us custom turbo headers too.

I must confess... I feel like a monster!

I have seen log manifolds make 500hp. The choice is up to you on how much you want to spend and which style you want

like said logs work great for up to 350-400ish hp then at that point you will see more of a gain from a tubular header. main reason for logs vs header is pricing, i can make a header that works with heat and a/c, adam also does a very good job as well.

well as long as a log style will get me the power I want I'll be happy with that. I'm not too worried about the style or the looks, just want to reach my goals. The difference in price between a log style and mini ram or ram is pretty substantial by the looks of things. I guess if I can reach my goals with a log style I will go with that and then if I decided to uprade something in the future I could look into a ram horn manifold. Anyways, thanks for the help.

I yielded 303whp with my CRACKED log manifold. And that was with a BS tune just to get me to the bash this year lol. You'll be fine for your power goals with a log.
