I'm going to be supercharging my car sometime in the spring. I want to ultimately run a 3.0 pulley, but I realize it isn't possible with just the reflash alone.
Is it possible with the Racetronix pump? Or would I need to HP tune it?
Also lets say I can run the 3.0 pulley, what kind of whp am I looking at with that, a cobra heatexchanger + dual pass mod, and a full 2.5" exhaust + pacesetter.
I want to reach around 240-250whp.
Thanks!
I hit 219whp with a custom header, 3" exhaust, 3.1 pulley, dualpass, cobra H/E, and the GM reflash.
To get up near the 250whp mark i'd go to a 2.9 pulley, larger injectors, meth injection, cobra H/E, dualpass, and HPT.
219whp - I <3 whine
how do you realize you cant run the 3.0 with the reflash? there are more than a few people who ran the reflash with the 3.0", including myself. I hit 237whp with the 3", gm reflash, meth inj, H/E, header, 2.25" exhaust and 257whp with the 2.9" with same mods + dual pass and 42# inj. this was with the stock fuel pump as well. i only upgraded my pump when i got nitrous.
so you can run the 3" with the gm reflash until you tune it yourself.

I thought that the 3.1 pulley was the lowest you could go on the reflash and the 3.0 wasn't possible due to leaning out in high RPMs unless you upgraded the fuel pump or used meth
sure you lean out at the top, i ran as lean as ~13afr above 6000rpm but it still worked; although that was on a built motor. its fine until you get near 5400 then it starts to lean out fast, so just shift before then. if you are boosted i would replace the fuel pump anyway; the stock one doesnt take abuse very well..
if you dont want to tune it yourself, a new fuel pump and afpr might make it work well enough for you.. not sure since i didnt have an afpr and walbro until after i had larger injectors and my HP tune.. but overall a 3" will work but a 3.1" like tinkles ran might be a tad bit safer on a stock motor. if its built.. hell it should hold if its build right.. mine withstood a 13.4AFR during a 100shot for 2 gears..

did you run the 2.9 on the stock tune as-well? this winter i wanna go down to a 2.9 cuz my belt is way to tight on the 3.1 now that i have the zzp charger spacer, and i don't really know when we will get around to hp tuning it. I think i pouched my tensioner.
i got hp tuners when i still had the 3.0 and tuned it, then eventually went to the 2.9 with pretty much no modification to the tune. maybe i put a little more fuel in but i remember swapping pulleys at a cobalt meet and not retuning..

i think you should send me your tune haha
ha you would have to modify it since i have it tuned for ~12.3 ish AFRs and my water meth setup

pretty sure gary has meth on his too

yup, i got meth last year, just bought a 2.7 and 60's...times to go balls out..
I wouldn't share tunes on any boosted car.
To the OP the whp gains you are looking for are possible. I am making right at 260 stock motor blower 3" pulley cobra he HPTune and some other stuff that is my build list. I was running a 2" exhaust when I dynoed the 260 and now I have 2.5" and my motor is still in one piece running safe AFR.

If i remember correctly isn't 2.7" pulley spinning the charger WAY to fast, and out of it effective usage range. I believe 2.8" is the smallest you want to run on a MP62...with a stock RPM redline.

Eaton's website talks about this specificly and they do not recommend anything lower then a 2.8 because it over spins the blower and will cause early failure.
I stand corrected, i just checked smooth flow and the smallest they sell is a 2.8, it was over a year ago and all i rember is ordering the smallest one, that and i get fuked up with this switching back and fourth from working on the eco and 2.5.
jbdy04, not calling you a liar, but i fined it hard to believe you made 260 to the wheels on just a 3.0, he and hpt, mustang dyno??
Dyno Jet which I know puts a higher number then a mustang dyno but thats what is near me and here is my dyno sheet.
Will the upgraded pump give me the extra fuel so I don't lean out? I have an auto so I can't shift before it starts leaning out.
we'll fuk eh, congrats man, thats what i'm hoping to make in the end, put down 200whp right on the last time i was on
i wouldn't think the pump itself would give you more fuel, it just wont crap out on you, you need bigger injectors mainly.
It is all in the tuning...all the parts you put on the car are worthless if you cannot sync them together through a good tune. There was an article a few months back in car and drive about this in regards to a subie and just doing an intake an exhaust upgrade. It showed that you couldn't even have those two upgrades with out a tune if you did no tune you actually lost power.
