Yes, I've got a huge surprise for him going, I've got costly engine and trans being built, but he wants to get the parts for his car. I keep telling him to wait on buying them but if I don't get a turbo lined up soon he's gonna get thinking about why I don't want him to get stuff. I don't wanna ruin my surprise for him. just wondering what I should let him get or spend. I mean simply put we have 3 cavy's and the plan was to make one but I guess 2 wouldnt hurt. I'm to old to old to be driving a boosted car.

your never too old for boost.......
i bought that kit back a few years ago when it was only 500.00 shipped. installed it on my 98 s10 2.2. its not really a kit but more of a parts kit. you will need other stuff and you will need to fabricate brackets, tubing, etc to get these components to work on your vehicle. for the money you cant beat it. ive used these chines turbo's on just about everything i turbo'd and havent had any problems. there are some people on hmt that have 30k miles on there parts. there great for low boost applications so if you want big power then spend the money on name brand parts.

we already built his engine, I'm sure it will handle 15-19 on a daily and on track days I wouldn't be surprised if it would handle the full monte.

stay away from ebay turbo kits... usually cheap knock off parts that fail quickly, and dont hardly fit.

pay to play, hahn racecraft is who i would trust for a turbo kit if i didnt put one together myself..

What kind of motor are you building exactly? Which motor 2.2/2200OHV, 2.4, or 2.2 DOHC? If you are not turboing it then what is it going to be?

FU Tuning

what there saying is, is that a built motor want help a crap turbo kit. if you want to do it right the first time, your going to want to put quality parts on it. If your new to making jbody's go fast your best bet is HAHN racecraft that man makes our cars go very fast, and he does it reliably. If you build a real motor for that car, dont strap an ebay kit to it. thats like thats like having the lightest rims best built rims on the street and wraping them with an H rated 60 dollar tire.

he's building an Eco according to his profile...

Personally if it were me, i'd build one of the two 2.4s he has...

I don't get all the ebay turbo kit posts lately.......

Anyway, Why would you build a crazy engine, then throw a cheap kit on it?

Does the sound of vanes snapping off and getting chewed by the valvetrain and pistons sound cool as you are going down the road?

Must be the hot new sound. Bov's are sooooo 2009.

I think he is building one car and his grandson wants to buy a ebay turbo for the second car. The grandson doesn't know about the first car that is being built. (atleast thats my understanding).

Either way I would tell your grandson not to buy the ebay kit. Like most have said, it probably wont last. Tell him that you will help him piece together his own kit if he does his research. This will buy you time to build the other car. Also name brand parts will be easier to sell off after you give him that other car, so he wont be stuck with a no name ecrap turbo kit that nobody wants to buy.
