The spring is most likely an extra wastegate spring with a different stiffness.

Apart from the manifold, you still need oil feed/return lines, vacuum/boost signal hoses, boost controller, larger injectors, downpipe/exhaust and some way to tune.

I have no signiture

How much boost do you plan on running? what HP do you plan on attaining?

z24cavi55z24 wrote:thoughts on tuning whats the best way to go about it?

HP Tuners....Megasquirt....External FMU.....any one of these....

For a basic turbo you also have to look into:

- fuel pumps (inline, or a new intank) if you want to run a decent amount of boost. The stock pump will only support so much.
- Gauges (I'd suggest a Wideband o2, and Boost Gauge at a MINIMUM)
- Oil feed (to turbo from block) line
- Oil return (to pan from turbo) line

If you want to add an intercooler you have to look into:

- an Intercooler
- Charge pipes
- Couplers
- T-bolt clamps, or worm clamps
- removal of your air intake system and possibly T.B. modifications and whatnot....
- Air filter

If you want to go the cheaper route and use an External FMU, you will need it, as well as the fuel lines and connectors to hook it between the fuel rail and existing fuel line.

I'm sure there are other things, like wire, assorted brass fittings, nuts and bolts, sealant, blah, blah....but this is a start.

It will take some planning, but check the stickys for extra info and make sure that you get the correct manifold for your turbo flange style. It would suck to buy the wrong one...

I suggest you read the FAQ's, stickies and actually do some research before you throw that on. If you dont even know what a downpipe is then ya got a problem...

Intake System
air filter
charge pipes
intercooler
blow off vavle
couplers
t-bolts
Vacuum block (Optional)

lol... F.U. man... I have a honda Everyone @!#$s on honda, but that's okay I think they're great.

If you piece together your own kit and have to do everything else (tranny, engine, etc) it can take really long. Trust me, been there, doing that. It might be a little harder for you to source parts than for me because I know there are much more parts readily available in the Honda world than for you, but good luck.

So if your time frame is 5 months you better have deep pockets.

Let us know how it turns out.

Just make sure you take your time and dont rush anything. If you look around good enough you will find good stuff cheap weather its used or new. I pieced together my whole kit for about 1,200-1,300 and most of my stuff is brand new and not knock off stuff. Good luck!!

Should have done that before getting that stuff. Once you actually know what you are doing you will probably replace what you just got.

Spring? Idk... That looks like a Tial F38 wastegate, and that spring definately does not belong there. I run a .5BAR spring in my Tial F38 and the one you have there is far too long, has far too many coils, and the coils themselves are far too thin. Who knows what kind of minimum boost you'd make with that spring even if you got it to somehow fit inside the wastegate. My suggestion on the spring, get on ebay and search for "Tial Small Yellow" (Fits the V44 & F38, costs like $32 including shipping), it's the same spring I run, allowing you to run a minimum of like 3.86psi to keep it a safe daily driver. No worries, with a boost controller you can always turn up the boost, the spring only regulates how low the boost will go. Shoot me a PM if you have any further questions, as I myself was in your shoes at one point piecing my kit together.
