do i have to machine my head before i put on my cometic MLS head gasket?
If it were me, I would. Just take your head to a decent machine shop and tell them you want the very minimum amount taken off to make the head surface flat.

and i wouldn't be suprised if you need the block machined as well. MLS gasket needs to be machined to RA60 or finer if i remember correctly, but good luck

When i put a new head gasket on my car i just did the head and thats it. Should be fine unless you were running the car hot and it could have warped everything?
