On the top end of the fuel pump (bottom has the white filter sock) there are two "nipples"; a larger one for the fuel main feed and a smaller one used to recirculate fuel back into the bottom of the canister at low fuel levels. The Walbro pump I have does not have a smaller recirculator "nipple" for that hose. What will the affects be of not running this hose? I figure as long as I keep the vehicle's fuel level above 1/2 tank I should be more okay. Does anyone think or know otherwise?

Yep Walbro's to not have that venturi little hose. Keep it around though. Just make sure you keep the car above 1/4 of a tank and you will be fine.

My racetronix came with that little nipple.
ECOtec DOHC
I added a tiny nipple to the top of my walbro for the venturi pickup. Most people are ok with keeping more fuel in the tank but it still strains the pump without it. Havnt tested my pump yet though
Mike, how did you add the nipple to that little opening for the pickup hose? The opening isn't threaded or anything...

yeah this is the main reason people are buying the racetronix right off the bat.
Yeah I was told to but I decided to save money and have a headache from doing so... lol My bad, just gotta move on from where I'm at. I talked to Nick @ TRE and he said that the pickup isn't really needed when running 1/4 tank or more also...

i like racing with less than 1/4 tank. and its just not worth the hassle of trying to stay above 1/4 all the time.
I drilled and tapped in a tiny fitting. I used a tiny fitting for like self brake bleeding, Ive seen people use fittings for like carbs on weed wackers too.
My thoughts on tapping a bleed screw in there is how much pressure will be in that line and on the screw. There is not much room/depth to get that good of a grip on the thread so I am just worried of it popping off of the pump. Idk, I think I'll stick with the no venturi pickup hose and just run 1/4 tank or more. Works for me!
