I am looking to replace my ebay turbo fearing it will go up soon, it has 4 weeks and 3k miles on it.. What would you suggest as the best brand to get? I was thinking garrett. The turbo can't be to large because I have minor clearance issues. I currently have a 42, 48 right now and might be able to go up a few size but my 57, 63 didn't come close to fitting. I'm also going to get a new wastegate and am pretty much set on tial. You guys think so?

What year and model car??? Garrett is a good choice to go with as they are IMO the cheapest turbo that is trustworthy (depending on what model you get). Just get yourself a Garrett T3 Super 60. TECHNICALLY, only Turbonetics made the Super 60, but a few companies, cheapturbo.com, sell a garrett version. Flows 35lbs/min and is good up to around 250hp easily. Cheapturbo.com sells the Garrett "super 60" for $675 which includes the ford 5-bolt flange and wastegate. I wouldnt worry about getting an external wastegate if you're only going to be pushing low numbers. But to each his own...

I already have a manifold for a external wastegate. It is a 2.2 ecotec in a 2003 sunfire. Would the "super 60" work because I had clearance issues before with the .57 .63 turbo. I'm not sure of the specs of the super 60. Also what about greddy? I'm going to be having about 210hp now is my goal. Then I want to spray when I rebuild my motor so I'm aiming for 300. Would that turbo support that hp. Thanks

I fit a 57 trim on mine no problem. And what is your reason behind wanting to spray?
If you're wanting to hit 300 you're probably going to have to get a t3/t4 hybrid or mitsubishi turbo. And dont spray...just up the boost level. And a super60 should fit even without a spacer flange. Also, you can buy external flange covers. Save you $200.
And he is right... Can fit a large hybrid back there no problem. Would need a spacer flange but there are no fitment issues.

i have a t3t4 hydrid 57 trim on mine with log mani and it fits kinda a pita but it fits

built2boosted- its just something i would want to do, just to say i did i guess hah
and to everyone, do you have your hotside facing the driverside?

Honestly, the only point in spraying I see is if you have a drag turbo and you need to spool it up quickly. just trying to save ya a few hundred bucks..

i probably should have said this early

gt2860 or aka the disco potato... spools super quick and will make the 300hp your looking for... In my opinion a t3/4 is to big, you'll never see its full potential...
Thanks for the suggestion.
Is that internal or external wastegated?
