I am looking into turbocharging my cavalier 2.2l ecotec, i am wondering how to tell if the motor has 9.5:1 compression ratio or 10:1 which is the two specs that are listed for the motor. Also will an LK9 tranny from a 2004 saab 9-3 bolt up to a L61 out of sunfires and cavaliers or is there a bell housing difference?? The reason for asking is because i am thinking of putting a 2.2l ecotec bottom end in a 2.0l ecotec saab engine. Is that even possible has anyone ever done it??
All ECOtec engines share the same bellhousing bolt pattern. So if the SAAB has an ECOtec, it will bolt up, but more than likely you will run into flywheel compatability and mounting problems. And all ECOtec equipped J bodies have 10:1 compression.
