This weekend i decided to try putting water wetter in my heat exchanger setup to see if it made a difference in the temps after the blower and i figured that i would do a flush too while i was at it. I Started working on getting the flush done and i think that my intercooler pump may be going out. At first i just took off the hoses going to the heat exchanger and put the inlet hose in a bucket of water and turned the pump on and it only spit out a little bit and didnt suck in any water out of the bucket. After that, i reconnected the exchanger hoses and took off the hose from the reservoir off (because it goes directly to the inlet of the pump) and poured water directly down that but even then, it would only take in water intermitantly even thought it sounded like it was still running and slowly too. At first i just thought that there must have been alot of air in the system but after running a few gallons through it im sure it was plummed. If the pump is going out i was wondering if anyone runs anything else than a stock cobalt pump. I wonder how much power im losing if its been non intercooled this whole time? It Dynoed 218 wheel, but that was in the middle of the winter wth the crap flash on it. Also im wondering if i could put a smaller pulley on it, bigger injectors, and get hp tuned and have it still be safe on a stock bottem end.
Heres a digram of my intercooler system.
Here also a Tease of what ive done with the car so far, got my hood on it and finished the front end swap =D. Washed it today Looks great. Got some more goodies comming for it this thursday too.
