okay so ive been searching and searchign and searching and ive still got a few questions about the top feed conversion on the 96 sunfire wit 2.2
i know the manifolds from the 96 - 99 are kinda interchangeable but what year model is everyone getting that other fuel rail off of because ive been junkyarding and cant find it.
will my stock injector wires hook up to my new 440cc injectors?
as i stated earlieer i have a 96 sunfire. will i have to do a full wiring harness swap from a 97 + (OBDII) to tune it with hptuners?
spacer will need to be made custom for my throttle body cable to clear with the other fuel rail.
and for someone who has done this before how much of a pain is it for my fuel linesto coinside with the other fuel rail?
there will probably going to be mroe questions as we go along and ill be working on this for a while im planning on boosting it with a t28 garrett turbo and frunning 8psi.
You need the rail from a 98-02 (plastic manifold). Grab as much of the fuel lines from this as you can as well. You can just cut your stock lines (where they are rubber) and couple the lines with a barbed fittings and hose clamps. Also grab the 98-02 injector connectors (pigtails); you can splice these into your harness (make sure to check the impedence of your new injectors!).
The '96 and '97* use the same sensors, so you don't need the entire harness, just the part going into the ECU. Using pin-outs for both ECUs, you can cut and splice wires to the new ECU. I believe MadJack did this somewhat recently, so he might have more info.
*note that '96 is also OBD2.
Some people seem to need a spacer, so don't. But, there's many ways to do the conversion...

I believe the deciding factor of if you need a spacer or not is how deep the injectors are set in the intake manifold. the throttle body butterfly valve will hit the fuel rail when it tries to open. That was the reason for the spacer.
yeah it is. ive found 12 cars that are compatible with that fuel rail and they have all been stripped. just not havin any luck today. im at mcdonalds waitin out the rain ill be goin back in about 10 min to get the manifold. but idk what im gonna do about the rail. from what ive heard this is the most promising yard around.
okay i got the manifold and rail. now i need to choose my injectors. someone suggested 440cc. would ford green injectors be a good choice?
pics will be up tonight of how things are going.

any one tried this pump and have pics or any suggestions on this one?
That used to be a common addition around these parts, but the .org seems to now prefer in-tank replacements (for good reason).
