FMIC overheating coolant?

I was wondering if you guys that have huge FMIC's that cover the entire front end also experience overheating of the coolant system when you drive the car hard, like a 1/4mi pass, etc? I am getting this and wondering if I should build a dividing plate between the exhuast of the FMIC and divert that air down under the car, and then pipe in another cold air source for the coolant radiator. what did you do?

Since the FMIC is right in the airflow of the coolest air my idea was to use some 22gauge sheet metal and fabricate a 2" x 24" scoop just under the FMIC (Below the bumper where the rub lip is) with a full plenum that runs up to the bottom of the opening between the hood and bumper and allow the FMIC exhaust to run off to the sides and dump just behind the core support.

I have noticed warmer coolant temps with my FMIC in place but also having the turbo adds to a heat load on the coolant system since mine is water and oil cooled - I tend to drive more in the evening or cooler parts of the day. I have body kit that I will be putting on that should add a lot more air flow to the front to help this out. Certainly the FMIC reduces the airflow to the radiator.

I don't get over heating - but as mentioned - It runs hotter than stock....I don't have the stock bumper cut away either - if you're running a cut bumper that could be helping.

I had a little issue with this, but I have a huge custom aluminum radiator, behind an oil cooler, transmission cooler, and a "tiny" intercooler.

im also running the water cooling option on my turbo, no cutting up the bumper at all and it doesnt run any hotter than stock

Our coolant is always around stock and we have a watercooled turbo.

ok, thanks for the feedback. Looks like I must have some other issue if all you guys can do the same thing and remain cool. So, I guess I dont need to look any further at an extensive ducting plan. Thanks. I did just swap from a 3.91 FDR to a 3.61, so maybe the taller gearing is enough to change my timing requirements, eh?

Ehh I thought my intercooler caused the coolant to run hot but coincidentally my thermostat failed during my turbo install. Never had a problem since I fixed that.

I just hooked up the water lines on my bigger turbo the other day though and I was seeing hotter temperatures than normal... could just be air in the system though (the way the water lines have to be routed put them as the highest point in the system).. time and tinkering will tell.

I saw that stuff at Meijer and various auto parts stores the other day while picking up some oil and such. the bottle says that with 50/50 mix of water and ethylene glycol you could see an 8 degree drop in temps. The 20 degree drop is if you use water and water wetter alone. Water by itself cools better than with coolant mix but then you miss out on the anti-corrosive properties. Perhaps a 60/40 mix of water and water wetter would be a good compromise - just be careful around the dead of winter.
