non eco turbo 2.2

No no I'm not talking about the 2200. I'm talking about the 2.2 that's in the 95-97 jbodies.

Has anyone set one up for boost. I'm thinking about putting one together for my car possibly and I'm looking for some idears. Yes idears.


Of course I might just buy an eco car.

I wanted to when I had my 99. I know the ln2 can take a fair amount of boost.

There was a guy selling a kit in Jacksonville, fl on craigslist real cheap, just bring your own turbo.

i literally just finished boosting mine 2 days ago. i have a mitsubishi td04 turbo, godspeed front mount, greddy bov, zex nitrous..... i am running 12 lbs on a built motor.... with a stock motor i would only run like 4 or 6 psi.... but all i have in my motor is a re-machined cam, mahale forged rods and mahle low compression pistons, and a aftermarket competition crank. my engine is a 2.2 ohv as well and i right now without nitrous have around 300whp! thats pretty damn good for a 2.2 ohv! if you need any pointers on how to do it, or any problems you run into let me know! because like i said i just finished mine!

Not to disagree with what you said, but there are guys running waaaaaaay more than 4-6 PSI on the stock internals. I believe QWK LN2 was running over 20 PSI at around 290 WHP on stock internals (before it cracked a ringland?) for a very long time. There are lots of guys running north of 14 PSI with several thousand miles. In fact, there was a member not too long ago that was pushing 18ish for 30,000 miles if I recall correctly. Anyways, the point is they can make a reliable 260-280 WHP reliably without breaking much of a sweat. You should be more concerned with how much power it can take though, not boost, because there are way to many variables to say that a certain PSI is too much.

The 2200 has different pistons than the 2.2. Iirc.

How are you coming up with this? Have you put it on a dyno? If so, pics or vids? I have a hard time believing you are at that power level with that turbo.... Also, I would like to see pics of build also....

Ya I gotta see pics too. I have a boosted ln2. Where in the world did you find a aftermarket crank for a 2.2 ohv? I have been looking for years for one. What are you using for tuning fuel? And I didn't think mahle made forged pistons. Hyperutectic maybe.

i call bull@!#$. 300whp on low compression pistons and only running 12 lbs of boost? post some dyno runs to back that number up because i dont believe it for one second.

and to get a aftermarket crank go to a local machine shop of yours! its pretty simple lol i took my engine to a machine shop and they built a afrermarket crank, re machined my cam, i previously bought mahale forged RODS not pistons dumbass.... and bought low compression mahle pistons! they put everythning in and together for right around 4000. i will post pics of my build, set up , and dyno run since everyone on here is a bunch of lil ladies! :O ...and exactaly my point running 12 lbs on a stock engine BLOWS IT UP! and NO you wont be able to run 12 lbs on stock fuel injectors and stock fuel pump! i tried, and guess what?! it blew my headgasket! who wulda knew! lol you boys crack me up!

when you run that much boost on stock injectors and fuel pump you get fuel cut off! which means YOU ARENT GETTING FUEL! i would really really like to see a completley bone stock engine running that much boost! i am running between 12 and 14 lbs and i have cobalt ss fuel injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump.... the fuel pressure is at 46 lbs thats how much pressure you need to run 12- 14 lbs! the stock fuel pump runs 32-35 lbs of fuel pressure! on our engine with stock fuel pressure it is safe to run no more than 4-6 psi!

BullSH!T No machine shop is going to "make you a crank", especially for this engine....

This would not cause a head gasket to blow... It would cause detonation which would cause other components to fail....

when it comes to 2200's i would like many others here call the two people right about you (ryan, and PJ) the teachers.. so i mean your the newby here and your the one making claims that you cannot prove.. and what the @!#$ are you talking about confidential statements??? myltiple people on here have posted dyno results with no issues.... hell i know the last dyno i did they even asked me if i wanted a digital copy on disk??
