Cobalt Stage 2

Has anyone attempted to install the cobalt stage 2 upgrade and use HP tuners? Also, would it be possible to install the stage 2 kit and use the PCM off of an SS?

I'm installing the ZZP S3 this weekend and want to go with a smaller pulley and tune next followed by a wet 50 shot. I thought the stage 2 kit would suffice and I could run a HP tune or swap out PCM's.

I searched the word "cobalt" btw and I found that almost all of the S/C parts fit the cavalier and cobalt and that 1 rib must be cut off of the cobalt's belt for fitment.

You know fullll well the PCM are NOT interchangable you should know that! Secondly, i think your pushing you internals as many would say(unless they are upgraded....I think Tinkles would have some good info whenever he see's this. for h/e setup for a 2.8 i would advise aleast a dual pass setup..see'n that you are going to spinning the charger faster. I'm pretty sure you can Tune with HP tuners for it tho....

Wait till the other chime in for comfirmation tho...

And good luck

what year cobalt? i have an 06 lt 2.2 and i had trifecta do all the tuning since there is no other tuning support for 05-06 cobalt 2.2. i built my setup for 25 lbs of boost, 80 # injectors, gt35, wiseco low comp pistons, eagle rods, cometic head gasket and arp studs and trifecta was able to tune it easily.

with out internals you are asking for a blown motor with a 2.8 and N20. I believe evilmonkitar runs that set up but with a built motor. You will need to run HPTuners. With out a built motor 3" pulley would be max.

O I thought my ZZP S3 is dual pass...Yea I'm not gonna push the car too much because i'm not gonna go internals for awhile because of the difficulty it will cause regarding limited time and i'll be out of a car. I'm thinking just a few sizes smaller on the pulley and a tune for now...

I believe that H/E is dual pass but they mean the dual pass endplate for the interooler cores in the intake manifold.

The S3 is a dual pass H/E but we are talking about the dual pass endplate.

A 2.8 pulley and HPT alone with not blow your engine, but if that and the supporting mods raise the hp output to over what the engine can handle then it will blow. I would never run nitrous and boost on a stock bottom end.

Boost > N/A

180hp in 1989 or 260hp in 2008, you decide. Quad < Ecotec

My assumption is you have support mods if you are going to run a 2.8. my car on a 3" pulley is pushing the limits of my motor.

Cobalt PCM & Jbody PCM are not compatible.

And as far as what you are expecting your not-forged bottom end to handle..... good luck.
