ok so i finally got the turbo kit on my built ecotec...the wastegate is set at 8psi and the fmu is set a little rich just to hear it run before tuning... it has noooo power whatsoever,,, could this just be because i need it tuned or should i look at something else being the problem????
Im just gonna guess that u threw bigger injectors in without a tune. Gonna need to give waaay more info........
You said its built right? You might want to check to see if the cams are in time. Sounds like you could be one tooth off. Are you getting any codes? and what are you using for tuning? More details would help us alot

ok it has eagle crank, eagle rods, wiesco 8.5.1 pistons, darton sleeves, supertech black nitrade valves, bronze wall guides, clevette 77 bearings rod and main, cometic headgasket, crane springs, comp turbo cams, gm adjustable cam gears, titanium retainers and keepers, light weight flywheel, rk sport crank pully, rk sport upper and lower motor mounts, full P&P head, vulcan turbo intake and turbo manifold, rc 440injectors, begi fmu, tial wastegate, turbonetics turbo, all new timing componets and chain, new oil pump water pump and alternator...........ummmm i think thats it... and YES it is in time considering it was broken in N/A and ran great..... i dont plan on driving it anywhere,,, and im hoping to set up a time and date with oldkool for a tune....
def sounds like a cam timing issue

Did you play with the cam gears?
Also you didnt say what turbo you are using, but going by that you have an eagle crank and darton sleeves i would guess that your power goals are north of 400whp. If that's the case i would went with alot larger injectors.
Boost > N/A
180hp in 1989 or 260hp in 2008, you decide. Quad < Ecotec
i dont see how the timing would have got messed up though....it was never touched since the motor was built... and it ran like a champ until turbo went on..... and actually its just a turbonetics t3t4 with stage 2 wheel i believe its 60 trim but dont quote me on that..... i only plan on like 14lbs everyday.... only reason for crank and sleeves is for longevity of my motor
You have adjustable cam gears, what are they set at?
Do you have a wideband?

The adjusting bolts could have worked themselves loose and thrown off the timing. There really isnt a need for adjustable cam gears on an ecotec.

they are set at stock settings... i left them there until it gets tuned.. and not at the moment i ordered a innovate wideband.... the car is parked until the wideband and walbo fuel pump gets here
Do you have hp tuners and did you adjust you injector constant? Between those injectors and a turned up FMU it sounds like your running really rich. I am in no way any expert and am just learning the tuning thing myself. But I do know from experience too rich means no power and washed cylinder walls.
its not tuned yet i ma looking for a tuner local to me
im located in pa my zip is 15857... i will pay for the hpt credits, labor, and gas needed to come to me since i cannot drive it..
With a build that extensive there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many things that could be wrong. Without an experienced person actually being able to see and hear what it is doing your going to be hard pressed to diagnose it on here. Sounds like you have a SERIOUSLY over built engine for the goals you have.
What exactly is it doing when you give it gas or when the problem occurs (VERY DETAILED)?
Is the FMU all you have in regard to tuning?
Did you JUST add those injectors or were they in it when it was running fine? If you have the RC440s then you certainly have the correct impedance so shouldn't be an issue there. Need to determine what you have tuned em with still though.
Did you accidentally forget to plug any sensors back in when doing the turbo install?
