In the far future after I am done taking care of bills, maybe a year or so I'd like to look into upgrading my turbo. I currently have a very basic t3/t4 60 trim, 63 ar turbo. And I will be running the LE5 (2.4 eco) bottom end and shooting for max 400 whp. Anyone have any advice as to what I should look into? I was thinking GT30r but am open to options and advice. Oldskool also through the Bulls Eye S256 into my head too, but I am seeing they aren't happy till 22+ psi..
Any questions or comments please post

400hp max huh, Id say yea GT30r would suit you. Look at Ryan and what he did with his 3076, he put down 376hp I think with room to grow. With the flow of the Eco head Im sure 400 would be no problem with that turbo.

Im running a GT35-R and love it!!!! Those numbers will be Fairly easy to hit with that turbo , the 30-R will hit it as well but may need a little more boost to do it as the CFM will be lower!... Good luck man!

Ryan put down 420 with the gt30, he just updated the thread in the racing forum.
I would say either a gt30 or a 60-1 would do pretty nicely. Gt35s are nice but not needed for 400 hp. But then again you will always want more!!
Billet s259 extended tip - good for over 500whp but very laggy.

Phil, the s252 would better suit your needs than the s256. Price wise, your best bet is the journal bearing 60-1 that PJ suggested, but once you start talking ball bearing gt series, the prices are very similar to the bullseye turbos. Ryan (QWK LN2) also now has experience with the s200 series bullseyes (albeit on the LNF), so maybe he can chime in on a preference or objective comparison.
HERE is an objective test done comparing the 3076 to the s256 to get an idea of these two turbos on the exact same car.
Whatever you end up going with, it's gonna be fun

because it's an off-brand turbo. I don't mean to speak for phil, but this is one of those 1-in-10 cases where the off-brand works out, but it might not be wise to push your luck lol.
ah ok, hmm if money isnt an option then i vote gt30

Phil, keep in mind the comp i posted was for the 256 - the 252 is a better match to your goals. The comparison for this one in terms of spool up is more like the gt3071. See the WIDE tasty map:
Sidebar/thread jack - after looking more closely at my eco s/c intake mani, i have a slight feeling/wish i would have prepped the motor for turbo. I may have to look into a custom s/c mani
Putting the air in the engine should not be this hard lol.

Oh and in case you were wondering, the s252 and s256 are significantly different. The s252 uses the s200sx exhaust wheel, which is smaller than the s200 wheel found on the the s256 Bullseye sells (there is also an s256 with the smaller s200sx exhaust wheel). I would be careful with Bullseye though, because it seems like some of the stuff they sell is just marked-up BW turbos without Bullseye's custom exhaust housings or billet wheels (at least this is the case for the s300 series). If you want a good reference for BW turbos...

Just my 2 cents....Look into a Holset hx-35 or hx-40(Most likely the hx-35 for 4oohp), very affordable, bullseye makes a housing to mate it to T3 flange....dsm guys swear by these turbos, they are capable of some serious power.
^^^^ The HX-35 and HY-35 are very popular with budget builders, because the Cummins guys are trying to get rid of them. People have wised up over the years though, so it's getting harder to find really good deals on these Holsets. Definitely a good choice, though.
