What restrictor is recommended from you guys on a journal bearing t3t4? Also does anyone know what our idle oil pressure is at on the L61 Ecotec? I only experience burning oil at idle for an extended period of time. Garrett recommends .090-.125 restrictor.... and I currently run a .060. Could my idle oil pressure be through the roof?

http://www.turbo-power.com/contact.html ) has been doing it for a LONG LONG time and told me to run no less than 40 psi to a journal bearing and that journal dont need restrictors. he told me that ball bearing ones do. i know i pulled oil feed from the side of the head and it starts out at 40 psi,but once warm, drops to about 15 psi and he told me that was nowhere near enough. i know camron pulls his from the front of the motor under the intake manifold. if you search you will find posts on here telling you the psi of the places where oil feed has been pulled.
But how am I burning oil if the psi drops off? Wouldn't I do the opposite? I'm running the feed off the side galley as well. It doesn't burn oil when I cold start and idle for five min warning up. Once warm, it'll start burning oil in just over a minute. What gives?

the restrictors is taking the supplied oil pressure and reducing it so if you have 15 psi oil pressure when the engine is warm at the head then the restrictor will be supplying ~7 psi to the turbo( this is an example and not an accurate value). i am using the same resistor but my oil supply is at the oil filter housing where oil pressure is always higher. oil pressure at the cylinder head will always be lower. purchase the adapter fitting so you can run your oil feed from the oil pressure switch under the intake manifold. i believe summit has the adapter fitting. someone on here should know the part number but i dont recall as i didnt go that route.
since your running low oil pressure when the engine is warm the turbo may be damaged. instead of changing your oil feed position try just removing the restrictor and see if the problem is resolved.
I've been running the head port for almost 5000 miles and my turbo just came off and the center housing still is mint...

It's my drain that's my issue. The tap is at the top of the pan, when I stop and idle the oil settles in the motor/pan and it fills up to the point where the drain runs into and backs up my drain. Looks like until I fix this and get it to the girdle I'll have to keep the car moving!

our pans dont have enough space for a drain, use the block

my oil drain fitting is welded at top of the oil pan just above the oil spash shield on the passenger side(just above the oil drain plug). no oil drain issues at all.

I use the same spot, except w/ my manifold i can't go over the trans, i have to go under. It's complicated...

what manifold are you using that makes the turbo sit so low?
it's a steel log manifold with a 1.5" spacer. Not sure of brand but it's a warped POS. I'd really like one w/ the wastegate flange on the opposite side of the manifold's t3 flange so the external dump pipe stays out of the turbo's way...
