Need a new turbo mani, suggestions?
Sunday, October 24, 2010 1:24 PM
So my manifold is f'd. Lookin for one that i won't have motor or auto trans clearance issues with. I don't care if it hits the firewall, I'll just cut and move it. Welcoming all designs.

Looks like Vulcan makes a t3 angle adapter which should fix my issues. I wonder if they can make it a 90 degree instead of 45...

i make ecotec stainless log manifolds with a t3 flange welded at an angle of 45 degrees. i am using this manifold design with a gt35 and an auto trans and i have no clearence issues. 250.00 + shipping or 300.00 + shipping with an external wastegate flange of your choice.

Okay, I understand they have a rep with fitment issues and whatnot. But how far off can you be with a simple two t3 flanges connected w/ a 45 degree pipe? I don't have a link since I'm on my phone's internet, but check it out under the Turbo Manifold page towards the bottom. How could they f this up? Lol

I'd need one w/ a 38mm wastegate flange, but first I'd need to see an image of the weld quality, type of metal used, and also a view of the angle the t3 flange sits. Prefer maybe a drawing or blueprint if possible.

well you're assuming you'll actually get a product shipped to you from Vulcan. Trust me, there are quite a few of us that have enjoyed Vulcan's "customer service".

Well I shot them an email last night asking about possibly making it a 90 degree adapter, so let's see how timely they'd like to make their first impression on me.

So are you saying that they've basically robbed you of a payment by never delivering a product period? And if so, you're not the only one? How can a place stay in business with such a lack of work ethic?...

Well Jim I wish I could tell you how they stay open because I really have no idea. Speaking from just my own experience I payed in full for an M62 manifold on Feb. 23 and still have yet to see it. He was griping about not being able to get flanges made so I had one made and sent it to him because that was all that was holding him up.... that was a month and a half ago. Trust me I'm not the only one either. Not trying to bitch too much just trying to save you some trouble. Brian is great at getting back until he has your money then it run around central. If you want to try then I wish you luck, I know you'll need it.

Well then who can make one of those adapters? Getting the t3 flanges is cake, but what would it take to make the 90 degree metal bend?

You could check with Atomic Fabrications, I know they were at least looking at making one to fit the auto trans, maybe Brandon Fetter. I'd say Hahn but to my knowledge they don't have anything for the auto. Honestly I'm a supercharger guy, I know there are guys with alot more experience than me when it comes to turbo stuff. I just wanted to warn you about Vulcan, I wish I knew better.
