On a turbo LD9, what typical gaps are you guys running? I'm thinking my .030 may be too small, but who knows.

Depends on boost... I have ran them as low as .028-.025 for higher boost applications.

Mmkay.. I'm just diagnosing a random/multiple misfire that shows up on HPTuners sometimes. Wanted to make sure .030 shouldn't be too small to cause one, especially with MSD coils.

Not sure. I've got some ideas to try though. Only felt misfire occurs when I shift and it hit the limiter at wide open, or at idle which seems slightly rough since the new intake manifold. Might be nothing, or at least fixed since the raised limiter, we'll see.

What would cause a P0300 random misfire only at idle? Car runs
perfectly smooth otherwise. My idle spark timing jumps around (it's done that since the beginning though) but now it's felt more, and the RPMs and MAP drop at the same spot as each other. It seems like this began once I installed the custom intake manifold. Not sure if the now larger plenum is affecting it enough to warrant lowering the idle set screw to increase vacuum.
Unplugged the IACV while running, no change whatsoever in idle. IAC counts in HPTuners moved the same, it progressively falls down to 1 if it idles long enough. I upped the idle to 900 and it still has the issue so it's not that it's idling too low (had that once before). Switched IACVs, nothing different. You can hear it in the exhaust and see it in the readings, it's definitely missing a little at idle, just don't understand why. Did a boost/vacuum leak test and everything seem cool. Changed out one of my MSD coils just for kicks, and changed the wires and plugs, no change. Could be the other MSD coil but I doubt it since everything runs smooth as butter besides idle.

Not sure how you log it, I've logged the Total Misfires PID once but it's strange how it behaves. I can definitely feel it. It's much more noticeable if you're stopped in gear and let off the brake to lightly coast, you can feel the jerkiness that occurs at the same moment the RPMs drop about 50-80.
I can read a P0300 (immature/pending/history/etc.) almost every time I drive it, it'll show up in the DTC list. Only thing I can think of is maybe there's a vacuum leak I missed (likely culprit: rubber brake booster hose) or that my throttle plate needs to be more closed since the bigger manifold.

I would say its most likely a vac leak. Try spraying some brake cleaner around the intake and see if anything changes...

Slightly less than it used to back in the day. Right now idle is usually between 38-42 kPa. It behaves like a vacuum leak so I'm going to do a more thorough boost leak test and investigate.
