Just got a call from the place tuning my car on the dyno and they said i was making 284hp on 20psi of boost. I have a built engine with a 20g turbo (hahn) running 550cc injectors with inline pump (from hahn kit). I don't think somethings quite right with those numbers but im not sure. So i need u guys input on this one. Check out my profile for all my updated mods. Thank you.

My guess is they have dialed your advance back too far. Why kind of dyno?

What type of dyno? What are other specs? Could be a few different things?

I lowered the CR to 8:9:1 n i have turbo grid cams to if that helps.

lol thats why... the dyno dynamics is known as the 'heart breaker' dyno... it shows quite a bit less than a dyno jet (which is what 90% of all our member's numbers around here are done with)
on a dyno jet id say ur prolly around 320whp.

Based on all the research and my experieince tuning on both, the difference is 15-18% depending on weather.....

So in my case what should be done to the car in order to get to that magic 400hp goal of mines? I thought i would of been closer then that but looks like im still pretty far.

You'd be @ 330ish DynoJet. Stock intake manifold? 2.5" exhaust can also be bottle neck...

No i have hahns intake manifold. I was thinking the same thing about the exhaust but not sure if i would get more then 10 or so horses with a 3". To spend 400 to 500 to get 10 horses is not worth it to but if its necessary then it will be done.

I thought i had a good one (or so i thought lol). It doesn't max out into like 500hp with pretty good spool time. What would you consider "a REAL turbo"?

honestly, even on a dyno dynamics that sounds low. My stock hairdyer turbo LNF put down 307whp on the same type of dyno on 21psi. I'm honestly not very familiar with the s20g in terms of flow/compressor mapping, but i know it "looks" much bigger than mine
What is the afr in boost, and what does the timing curve look like? I've been told a degree of timing in boost can be as much as 10hp.
find out what they did to the tune. i doubt its the dyno reading incorrect. if the tune is too rich or they retarded the timing too much your numbers will drop drastically.
I dont know much about dyno readings like the other guys.
I'm only on a S16G turbo running 18# of boost.
I always guessed 300HP because I was able to run a 12.4 @ 115...
But if your only making 284HP with a 20G @ 20psi....

@!#$ im in alberta, if we can setup a couple cars and such, probably be a good turn around, i can setup a dyno for us all but if some guys can help pitch $ in and such we can set it up for this spring/summer
i know that i wouldnt mind ryan going over my tune that i have now, a guy in calgary is looking, another friend of mine will have his built eco ready so be at least 3 cars ready to go
