i am just now learning this saab setup as i am doing it on mine. For the oil feed on a saab garret turbo can i use the same location on the 2.2? I know on the oil drain you have to drill and fit the pipe in the hole with the rubber washer, bout what about the feed? is there any drilling? i have a whole saab motor so i have every piece and can take pics of whatever if anyone needs them.
if its an ecotec there are three ports on the back of the block with allen key heads... i suggest using the one farthest to the passenger side... also if you plan to run a braided line youl need an autometer 2278 fitting
i didnt think the gt17 would mount to the ecotecs? could be wrong but i thought it was only the tdo4....
i hope it mounts up. the engine its coming off of is a 2.0 ecotec. i want to use the stock saab feed John. So just take the bolt out and put the banjo bolt with the oil feed in there? ill take some pics after work tom so you know what im talking about. I want to make sure i have this perfectly right before i start. Also i think i have air injection on the saab motor for the manifold. i will take a picture of that to, but dont i have to get a exhaust gasket with no air injection? i might not be talking about the right thing i just thought i read something about that here.
not sure im actually finishing the saab setup right now but im using the td04.... and yes u can use the banjo it was just cheaper for me to run a 4 an line than to buy all the banjo stuff haha... my turbo doesnt have air injection so im not sure...
sweet i plan to start installing friday. i already have hp tuners and just ordered another wideband for this car just now. what i did was bought a saab 9-3 motor for dirt cheap from a guy. it was cheaper to buy this whole motor then just a turbo and mani from a junk yard! so i have a whole motor right now. Just got the turbo off earlier and dorn that turbo is small.
yea the gt 17 is really small haha
