I finally finished getting all the oil lines ran for my rear mounted setup. I fired it up for the first time tonight and it does not spin at idle. The car is not mobile yet thus I did not drive it but I did rev it up some and it started spinning but still not that fast. Any advice or is this normal? It is not a ball bearing turbo.

What size turbo? Being remote the exhaust gases have cooled down some by the time it gets back to the rear mount. Rear's have a little more lag than a traditional turbo setup from what I've seen people post up. If it makes you feel better the LN2 almost makes the impeller move the T3/T4 at idle on my friends turbo J.
Its a T3/T4 .63 A/R. Can damage occur because its not spinning at idle?

If its a.new turbo, clearances could be small enough that it'll be stationary at idle. Especially if the oil is cool when its running. Make sure you have good oil flow and return to the turbo. Stationary at idle wont hurt it as long as your oil pressure isn't high. Once you're running and its good and hot, it'll spin.

normal occurance. my buddy put a super 60 turbo on his 98 sunfire 2200 and at idle the engine couldnt produce enough exhaust flow to spin the turbo.
flow. it wasnt a rear mounted turbo
I bought some exhaust wrap today im thinking this is part of the problem not enough heat.

Couple of my turbo's had done that too. Scared me at the time but when they get a load on them driving down the road they whistle loud.
