Looking for recommendations for a meth kit for my M45 Supercharged 2002 Cavalier Z24 2.4 Twin Cam.
What do you use, what have you used, what have you had the best luck with and what extra parts are involved?
Where did you mount it on the blower & at what psi do you have it set to activate/spray at?
Also installing a 2.6 pulley to go with this and an already installed MD oversize crank pulley. (thanks Mike davis) =)
Input would be great, thanks!

if using the overdrive crank pulley, pending how much overdrive, you could run the 2.8 pulley and make decent boost and reduce the chance of belt slippage
when i had the m45, i ended up using a cooling mist setup and mounted it in my trunk inside the liner on the drivers side and it tucked it away great.
id use a tb spacer thats tapped and put the nozzle in it to 100% avoid any potential tps sensor issues, for some reason i killed one and had the nozzle within the area they stated which was 6-8 inches away from the tb plate
any other questions shoot me a message if you like
Hey Mitdr774, did u tap your pump to run stainless lines? Thats pretty cool......I have a coolmist kit that has been installed for while but never used lol..
On another note, what kind of boost levels are you seeing with the OS crank pulley?
I used a cooling mist kit. They have a ebay store. I also tapped my washer fluid tank, and mounted the pump below the corener light.
I'm running the same crank pulley and a 2.5 charger pulley.
No slippage either.

I'm using the snow performance stage 1 with the nozzle tapped into a TB spacer and it worked for me. Had the pump on near the right strut mount and the tank on the firewall.
i used a cooling mist kit and a M5 injector on the stock GM s/c pulley.
loved the stuff. I had it come on at 3 psi of boost. I had a blue LED light in my boost gauge piller pod hooked up to the relay so I knew when the system was on.
I used the yellow bottle HEET stuff and distilled water. like 60/40 MIX .
mcmacster carr. com has the injectors just search " brass misting nozzle".
stuff works. i would run the car hard. get out and be able to lay my hand on the s/c.

Same here. Hella easy installation.
Tank is is the passanger fenderwell on top of the computer
pump is on the driver side finderwell
i have a 90* coupler right off the blower going down to my intake filter. I drilled/tapped a hole in the aluminum pipe, screwed in the smallest of the supplied nozzles (probably should swap it with a larger one now that i think about it), and rubbed a little clear silicone around it just to be safe. Works great in my opinion and i was able to install it in no time at all.
Mine starts at 1psi and is on full at 9psi
I wouldnt recomment that washer fluid crap though, i used it for about a week then ditched it and bought some pure meth to mix with distilled water.

Glad you guys are liking the over sized crank pulleys.

I thought smoothflow pulleys, "Nate" made some.
Sorry for the sidetrack Kevin.

Doesnt the 2.5 and os crank put as at max anyways though? Anymore after that i would think would juat create excessive heat

No prob! Glad to see all the s/c love and talk in here. Just trying to get my car right for this summer.
Not expecting a lot out of it, but a little would make me happy and getting rid of evil hot temps is a
good start in my book. Would like to see 9-10 psi safely & I would be happy with it. Seems like
it is achievable from what I have heard.
I looked on the smoothflow pulley site, and they have none listed for the M45. Somebody should let them know
because I would buy right away instead of pulley boys at $149.00

I think nate only made a handful for Grand am owners, but it has been a long time, and I could be thinking about another vendor.
Making a 2.4 pulley would leave the wall of the pulley to the bottom of the pulley grooves VERY small.

I will say this on the AEM make sure the controller is in the car, it wont live long even in an enclosed area in the engine bay, they are 150 each and ive killed 2 of them now

Here's what I will say about this. Back in the day people said the 2.5 made no power. At most 1whp and created more heat than it made in power.
I have proved that wrong. I gained about 10whp adding the OS crank pulley alone with tuning. I'm currently spinning my charger right at or above it's max RPM's. Still I will spin it harder. My IAT's climb about 10 degree's during a 1-4 gear pull. I think I can deal with some more heat. I can also up my nozzle from a 500cc to larger if need be.
I still need to port this charger also.

Had a devilsown kit on mine. Stock washer tank tapped and pump on impact bar up front. Nozzle was in my intake 6 or so inches from tb, but had a spacer I was gonna tap eventually. Traded it off with the charger when I went turbo, been thinking about running a meth setup again but gonna see what IATs run this year. Always used prestone deicer waher fluid 50/50 with water, pretty much the cheapest and easiest thing to get and run.

Stock crank pulley and a 2.4" S/C pulley on an unported S/C did not produce excessive heat, compared to a completely stock configuration.
Oh alright, thats good to know. I'm running the 2.5 & oversized crank now too, all i need to do is find someone who makes the 2.4's so i can scoop one up and check it out for myself then

Any updates?

I emailed Pulleyboys to see if they ever ran a batch of 2.4 m45 pulleys or have anything that size that will work with their hub. Hopefully theyll get back to me soon and ill let you guys know.

mike, its a 5 rib right? what bolt pattern hub? will any of the cobalte pullies work? i know some one make a 2.5 for that.
The cobalt pulleys are 6 rib, but I have no idea if the offset is the same.
