I have '05 supercharged 2.2L ecotec. I'm running it on the gm reflash w/ 2.5" exhaust and 2 step colder plugs. I'm running stock internals and the injectors that came w/ the kit. I plan on upgrading to a smaller pulley, dual pass endplate, cobra heat exchanger, ice box, and a wideband.
What is the smallest pulley I can run on the gm reflash and stock internals? 3.0?
What would I need to do to run the 2.6 pulley?
Don't bash me, I searched and came up with only a few things...
And thanks in advance to the guys that help
3.1 with 36# injectors (ones that came with the kit) and same belt that the kit came with (for most people)
3.0 or maybe 2.9 with 42# injectors and the gm stage 2 belt
Thats the general rule
2005 LS Auto (Blue)
-M62 Kit with 3.1"
-ZZP S3 H/E setup
-Pacesetter armor coated header
-Magnaflow 22" resonator (p/n 10436)
-Vibrant CatBack
-TTR Upper and Lower motor mounts
this info was in another thread if i recall, a few of us leaned out real bad with the 3.0 on stock LSJ injectors, so a 3.1 was suggested as the lowest to go on those injectors.
i have a 2.9" on 42# with a walbro fuel pump and have no leaning out issues, my AFRs are pretty stable. i dont have stock internals though.
2.6 wouldnt be worth it, search cobaltss.net for info on that..

My understanding would be that 42# injectors will not work with the GM reflash because of the injector constant.
But, yea on the reflash people have reported leaning out(bad) with a 3.0. There is nothing that says 100% that you would too if you ran a 3.0", but i'd rather play it safe with a 3.1"

what are your a/f's with the stock 3.35" pulley?
Don't know my a/f's yet b/c I haven't installed a wideband (the next mod b4 upgrading the boost). But I can tell it is definitely running on the rich side. I was also wondering what normal boost is for the stock 3.35" pulley? When I give it full throttle, my boost gauge says 11 psi, isn't that high for the stock pulley?
that sounds about right, mine was 11max on stock pulley...now on my 3.0 i get 13max in 100*f+ weather...and i get 10psi by 3k rpm...but if your running rich i say go with a 3.1" than when u get your wideband see what ur a/f's are @
thats about what im getting 11 psi with a afr of 10.0-10.3 very rich

if its the gm calibration, yea 10.0 afrs is what i had..

yeah i forgot to mention that. it was the gm flash as well

First of all, if your boosted and don't have a wide band, get one. I can't tell you how many people i talked to who are boosted and have no idea what their AFR are. This is a must have.
with the s/c kit only I ran 11psi when I added the heat exchanger it dropped to 8 psi gm reflash but picked up 5-10 whp on the dyno
with the 3.0 pulley on the gm reflash at 12 psi the car would run lean in the upper rpms as lean as 13.2 afr picked up about 15whp on the dyno
with the 3.0 pulley tuned at 12 psi stock internals same injectors that came with a kit added a 255 fuel pump runs 10.5-11.5 afr picked up about 30 whp on the dyno
Yeah, i'm gathering parts right now to do the upgrade all at once. So far I have...another supercharger w/ modulator pulley system (soon to be ported, polished, and silencer holes plugged), Mustang cobra Whipple heat exchanger, Endplate (I'm making into a dual pass), Red 3/4" hoses, Bosch water pump and bracket w/ harness.
Parts needed still...Filler neck w/ bracket, ice box, wide band, 3.1" pulley (will trade my 2.6"), evo hood (will trade my ss), cold air intake and w/e else I find
Will post progress pics in the pics section when I start the upgrade
Thanks guys for the info, and keep it coming...
I traded a 2.79" pulley for my 3.1" over on Cobaltss.net. Also the "option B" tank is better then the stock SS/SC filler neck(it holds more coolant and keeps things cooler).

ive tried looking, but what exactly is the "option B" anyways. sorry if its a dumb question.

Its a larger overflow tank for the H/E system.

I have it it isn't that great
i had a 2.9 pulley w/ a cooling setup and walbro pump and aeomotive afpr.seein 15-16psi and 10.0 on the wideband

Ahh, to revive an old thread.
I am currently faced with this same question. I was running a 3.1 and doing pretty dandy at AFRs at 10.1 and sometimes nearing 11 @ redline. Now I have a 3.0 and I am seeing 11-ish AFRs @ redline. Should I be worried? Should I consider a 2.9? Are there any upgrades I can do to lower AFRs without needing to retune or trip out the GM flash? Saw some people talking about higher flow fuel pumps or raising fuel pressure. Would this work?
Just get it retuned. The best thing i did for the car was to ditch the reflash. Also reflash or not a better fuel pump is a good choice.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
I have 60lb injectors (way overkill) and my stock fuel pump maintains 50psi all the way to 16psi.
Yeah, it looks like any pulley under 3.1" is going to need a tune and bigger injectors.
