has anyone had any success doing this? a buddy told me to try that instead of using my vac manifold...i only plan to use 2 extra ports and i think jb weld will seal it up perfect
When I was using the 2.4 ss mani I cut down brass barbs and jb welded them into the manifold with no issues untill I sold it and went to my current blower setup
When i bought my 2.4 manifold it had two brass barbs in it, i dont beleive they were jb welded though, there holding up to 22psi now
running rich? turn the boost up
i was just curious if the plastic was thick enough for a vood grab on the threads.... i dont wanna drill it and then have a huge leaking hole
I will let you know the runners on the LE5 manifold are thin...you have to jb them in because I'm sure they won't hold without it. With a stock L61 mani though I haven't messed with one but I'd say it will be the same
john, what you can do is drill the i.d hole for 1/16 npt ,tap it then jb threads and screw in. this is a size that are common on turbos for boost reference to internal wastegate.
if you don't want to tap it you can drill tap hole id then heat the hose barb with propane torch and with a good socket and extension screw it in while hot with jb on it.
The L61 has 2 extra barbs up by the manifold, I used em for my FPR and BOV. They have nipples on them from the factory.
apparently, you can milk anything with nipples....
do you guys have pics of where you're talking about for the L61 barbs by the manifold?
