Officially Purchased: (all off of eBay)
-CXRacing Heat Exchanger $135 w/ free shipping
-CXRacing Pump $49 w/ free shipping
-ZZP 3.1" pulley system $80+$8 shipping = $88
-used 03/04 Cobra overflow tank $54+$11 shipping = $65
-2 bottles of GM Supercharger oil $16+$6 shipping = $22
-new LSJ upper rad. hose $26+$6 shipping = $32
TOTAL: $391
I decided to save $85 and not get the ZZP S3 and save $50 by not getting the Bosch pump off eBay. The pulley kit is cheaper on eBay from ZZP than there website (Saved around $12). Option B isn't really worth it for me because I'm not going with the dual pass end plate. The supercharger was installed 3 years ago so it's time to change the oil in it. My upper radiator hose got shredded early on right after install of supercharger by the belt
The LSJ upper rad hose was $37 plus $11 shipping on ZZP.com so thats $16 more than eBay for a mesh cover....
I tried working with the guys at ZZP and they were complete dicks and @!#$ stupid. Basically they were acting like I was a hassle because I had a little confusion while ordering eBay (trying to save money....). I wish there was another good website because I would prefer not to do business with ZZP again. Especially a worker there I won't name, you can PM me for more details.

ZZP makes some kick ass parts/kits (excluding their damn valve springs), but their customer service leaves lots to be desired. Because of their accomplishments on the platform, they have a huge chip on their shoulder. You really have to suck their dick to get anywhere.
In an ideal world we could combine ZZP's inventory with TTR or car custom's customer service.
Sounds like you did pretty good on the parts. Only thing is the pump.
I was able to get the Cobra pump off ebay for $35 shipped.

If you are not installing dual pass why did you buy the HE and pump?
michael castrechino wrote:If you are not installing dual pass why did you buy the HE and pump?
You don't have to have a dual pass for those. You need them if your running a HE.

I want to see how you fit the cx racing h/e.

What do you mean fix? They have a few different models. Are you thinking of the one where the inlet and outlet are on the same side and there are not separated with a plate making it a dual pass h/e?
No I'm thinking of the one that I got that has the in and out on opposite sides. ITS HUGE. And I had to angle it funky and cut a bit of the bumper to get it to fit on the 02 bumper.

huh?
You don't have to get the dual pass endplate...

Don't remember what company my h/e is from but I just cut a slot in my bumper support to make it fit where I wanted.
It helps with heat soak alot. My new phone does auto text predict and its a PITA.

Heat soak, yeah not soo much, keeping IAT's down yes. Meth takes care of heat soak.

I realize this, but there's lots of people who run a big heat exchanger without the dual pass endplate....
I just want something to help with my IATs, the H/E will do the job!

So I just realized that the CXRacing one I want is 9.5" tall which would mean that it would hang a couple inches below my front bumper cover if bolted below the bumper
I'm just gonna get the ZZP as I know it will fit!
To others who installed the ZZP on their Cavaliers with no body kits, how does it fit?? Cause I have an LS not an LS Sport, so I don't have the LS Sport ground effects...

Haha, thats the issue I ran into. Mine is angled to fit and I already scraped it. The S3 is just like the CX racing one that has the in and out on the same side. I went with the cross flow one because thats how my hoses were already setup. I'll maybe get a picture in the lower light of the parking garage, because I'm heading out there right now to measure for my splitter.

Yep, ZZP S3 it is. After all this I'll probably want more and buy 42# injectors and a 2.8 or 2.9 and take it to my local tuner.... lol

I would go with the CX, and just cunt the bumper support. Thats what we did with the ZZP S3. The cavalier I helped install it on has a LS (non LS Sport front bumper). I have some pictures I will try to post tomorrow.

You don't have to cut the bumper cover with the S3, from what I hear!!

Bumper cover no. Bumper cover is the painted part of the bumper.
The bumper brace (metal part that support the bumper cover) yes. The car we installed it on already had that cut from a previous intercooler years ago. We still had to cut some more to keep the S3 from hanging below the stock LS non LS Sport bumper cover.

I gotchya, and I know the difference between the bumper and the bumper cover. Most ppl think that the bumper cover is the bumper...
I measured the distance from the bottom of the bumper to the bottom of the bumper cover and its like 7" on the LS bumper. The S3 is only 6.5" tall and the CXRacing one is 9.5" tall.
So if I have to cut into the bottom of the bumper cover a bit, that's alright.
I just don't want it to hang down 3" below the bumper cover....

There is no cutting required to install the ZZP S3 behind a 03+ bumper.
This is exactly how i installed it. All i did after this pic was put the bumper back on.
Fitment with the stock base/LS bumper.
And just for @!#$s and giggles, fitment behind the Xtreme tuner front. It is mounted exactly like the 1st picture.
Can you cut the bumper and raise it up ~1"? Yes.
Will it fit better and be centered better? Yes.
Is it required? No.
I have only "scrapped" it once, but that was an extreme dip pulling out of a driveway. Other than that it has been no where near close enough to the ground to scrape.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
