Hey guys, new to the forum and iv been readin around but just can't find anything on my problems.
I just picked up a 2000 cavalier that had a 2.2 eco / auto swap done to it. after a little bit the guy decided to install the
GM blower kit. after a couple months the motor started to knock. i picked up the car this way, and have a 2.2 from a 2004 sunfire to install that runs fine.
My questions are, what is the number that the ECM calibration should show? i work at GM as a Tech and when i looked it up on GM VIS it wasn't the same number as
the ecotec build book. i will post what it had init tomorrow.
this leads me to my next ? i have HP tuners, is there anyone out there that has any good tunes like the stock GM one, that don't suck.
cuz the car as it sits has poor off the line response. hope its just the motor being juncked.
thanks for any help, and if theres anything i should know about fixing while its apart for sure tell me lol.
so the part number of the tune is 12607609
and the Calibration ID is 16001590
Try to look at the tune with HPTuners. If you cannot then you do have the s/c reflash.
Error: Sig not found.
cool, i just read that the tune is locked if tis the GM craptune lol.
thanks.
Also wondering what everyone is dong for a air filter and tubes for the M62 on a J car? the car didn\t come with any elb or filter on it, ( guy said he gave it to a friend)
U can get a regular intake and cut it up to fit, if you want i have an extra intake and a brand new filter that will fit with the blower brand new installed it and took it off, decided to go wth a different look, it just needs a coupler, if iinterested, pm me
2004 Ecotec, Completley Stock...For Now
Cool, I have a stock intake from a 04 sunfire , I'll try and do some fabing tomorrow. Thanks
so i couldn't get the stock L61 to really work, it was the stiff plastic. but i found a 2.4L quad 4 elbow works.
should be doing the motor swap Saturday, hope to hell everything tunrns out ok lol.
I just have a 90* silicone elbow and a 90* aluminum elbow for my intake. Super easy and cheap
so after all the work i put in this weekend, swaped the motor over, and the guy that owend it befor had 2 different types of lock nuts on the wheels but 0 keys in the car ,
i finaly got to test drive the car and it runs very well( better after i re-gapped the plugs) but i have a trans leak, and i think the case is cracked!
not a good feeling lol
