Hello everybody I want to know how much boost I can use with factory internal in a ld9 engine. I just want to make a sleeper and money is a issue to I have a Garrett turbo with a a/r .48 cold and .49 hot so anybody can help me with this I'll be thankful.
Many factors come to play. Tuning being a major part of that.
People have done 15-18psi on stock LD9's when tuning was spot on.
FU Tuning
if money is an issue hold off til you have some.
you can never fully gauge what "boost" and engine can handle because the "Boost" will be different for different turbos etc. plus it also depends on how well taken care of the engine is.
now, i will say this for the LD9.... jay van has pushed the hell out of his for years now boosted, runs mid 12's at full weight and has over 100k on the clock. i know he takes care of it. im sure it has a lot to do with its longevity. but not only that, as john said.. the tuning needs to be there as well.
It's nice to be injected but I love being blown.
My ld9 only have a 96000 miles on the clock and I change the oil every 3 months and I use synthetic oil castrol and don't beat it up only use it like less than 20 k. M a week thank u for ur time and knowledge .
