Finally started to put everything together and got the heat exchanger on for now. Planning to be done tomorrow and got a few questions about the install and afterwards
1. I plan on driving to the dealer and getting the reflash, do you leave the tmap sensor unplugged?
2. When first starting the car how do you know the bypass valve is working? Will the boost gauge showing vaccuum tell you that its working?
3. Is there any way to make sure the car wont go into boost or is it just watching the boost gauge and keep the rpm's low?
4. Where is the vacuum accumulator port (automatic transmission)?
5. What to look for and what to listen for when first starting it up?
Thanks
it should fire up like normal, there shouldnt be any high pitched wines or hisses. it may be a little louder.
you can drive w/ the tmap upluged it will run rather rich, it will show vacuum liek normal, just try and keep a light foot, and dont mash it, just gradual acceleration.
leave the tmap unplugged. You'll be fine driving to the dealer, just keep it out of boost. The car will be running very rich and will be a little sluggish taking off from a stop. Don't worry about the vacuum accumulator port, that's not an issue. I don't believe the 4t40e even has such a thing. It shouldn't have been included in the instructions. After the dealer does the reflash, make sure they plug the tmap sensor in. Mine forgot to do that and couldn't figure out why the car wouldn't start. Enjoy the boost.
sounds like a porno to me....
It's nice to be injected but I love being blown.
Enjoy man, you will not be disappointed.

Looks good..
What paint and texture did you use on that??
I used SEM 39853 texture coating and had my dad match the interior color using Dupont Vinyl Color
love the gauge on the dash, thats original and neat. props!
love the gauge on the column as well. i have the exact same setup and gauge except mine doesnt dip down into the plastic like that. i like yours much better. you can see more of your gauges. not like i cant see mine or anything but still lol

Thanks! I make mine a little differently, the AEM is with the hard green foam for plants, popular wood, and epoxy. The steering column is just wood and epoxy. I tried to make that one as low as possible...I think it only blocks from ~95 mph on so really it doesn't block anything. That nylon tubing autometer gives you is pure sh!t...luckily they give you enough since i kinked it about a foot from one end.
Was wondering what range of boost you would see on the 3.4 pulley...i know it depends on the car and mods. I'm around 9 lbs with pacesetter headers and 2.5 exhaust. Does boost depend on air temperature since its density changes with it? We had a 9 degree day today.
Yah... thats about right.
I get 10-11psi roughly. But I havent completed my exhaust and only have the LSJ Pacesetter header and 2.5" downpipe and cat.
My understanding is that your psi will be less with cooler air. Dont really get hung up on the psi numbers though. I was at 12-13 psi before when i was un intercooled and then it dropped down to the range im at now and I make more power. PSI is just the restriction to flow so if you can get more power with lower boost ...cool!
I'm not worried about the number, i know each engine is different just wondering if the air temp would change it from winter to summer and such. More power at less boost = happy feet ... Also i meant header, i know we only got one haha
lol i had trouble with my autometer tubing for the boost gauge as well..

Maybe they think rubber tubing will compress and expand too much for an accurate reading? That's my only guess for using tubing which cannot go straight. Btw I like your sig
You can get decent bends on the tubing if you work slowly. I have mine routed all over my engine bay and interior with no issues. Just have to work with the bends already in the tubing.
I have seen a post on a few forums about using rubber hose instead but it took a few adapters to make it fit onto the gauge. Didnt seem worth the hassle to me.
True, I kept working through the engine bay using zip ties about every 4 inches following the loom and hoses
looks good...and awfully familiar! lol...
oil changes are a bit trickier but its worth it
now if you ever want to upgrade injectors and pullies and stuff, thats where the 'fun' begins. but you should have fun with the stage1 setup for a while!
very clean, nice looking setup and cavy!

Thanks! Trying to keep it clean as I can. It's definately fun for me now...I'm planning on keeping her like this to not put anymore stress on the auto trans. Just dont know how I went this long without that whine of a blower
(these smiley faces are awesome on the org)
Does anyone know if there is a company that could make custom car lettering? Not talking about vinyl but like the plastic that comes from chevy? Really want to get Olivia done in black with the same font that is in my sig and put it where cavalier was (car is shaved).
Thanks! I'll send them an email and see what they say
I noticed they might only do orders of 250 items minimum...but..thats the type of business you may want to look at. They had scripting too...and its not very expensive to have custom ones made (in bulk anyways).
I actually like the lower case 'cavalier' look..some dont.
