Still Rich with 3.0 Pulley
Tuesday, June 25, 2013 2:52 AM
Hey guys,

I just finished installing the 3.0 pulley and dual pass setup. Car drives great, but I'm still seeing the familiar 10.0 AFR under full load.

I'm running the GM reflash along with the racetronix pump, so it's a little strange that I'm still seeing such a rich AFR.

Thanks!

Not really, the stock pump leans out on a 3.0 the bigger pump may be keeping up. Are you basing this off a wideband?

Agreed, the racetronix pump is providing more fuel now than the stock pump could.

Thanks guys, I didn't think the reflash had enough in it for the 3.0" pulley. I'm gonna get an AFPR and lower the pressure a bit.

My m62 setup ran super rich for an entire year before the motor went bye bye.
I even was down to a 2.8" pulley with the wbody racetronix pump, harness, and every m62 upgrade part you can think of from zzp, ebay, etc.
not ONCE did i ever run anything other than 10.0 at WOT, and im sure it was much lower then that (UEGO only reads to 10.0).

Get a proper tune.

Maybe im reading it wrong but your motor didnt blow from being rich...

It blew from the detonation.

That being said.....Blu is right. A tune in the future will do wonders.

Did I miss something? I thought you'd be running leanish if you went to a 3.1 pulley? Or were all those threads if you we're on a stock pump?

Thanks guys. You're right, I need to get a real tune. Luke, I think the issue why I'm so rich is my injectors are clipping open under full load.

I'm currently seeing 85% injector duty cycle under full throttle which is probably causing them dump fuel.

Now...real question is...42's or 60's

Luke the stock pump leans out on a 3.1-3.0

if you have an aftermarket pump, you don't need anything bigger than 42s IMO. but a lot of supercharged guys are running 60's for future plans and it doesn't hurt to have them in there (like with a TVS, E85, or whatever).
im running the stage2's (42.5 lb/hr) and the wbody pump and mine is fine. you definitely need bigger injectors if you are downsizing your pulley. unless you plan on upgrading to a TVS or something later on, the stage2s are perfectly fine and will handle anything you can throw at an m62.

I thought the gm reflash commands a afr at wot. that being said when your at wot it could be increasing injector duty.

horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
