Another shining example of somebody putting on a turbo without truly researching what they were doing. This is why people blow engines.
JTR - This is why you are running 10lbs in your wastegate, boost controller or not:
Your wastegate opens and shuts via the pressure created from the compressor housing. At a pre-set spring-rate your gate will be forced open... thereby bleeding the EXCESS pressure and holding your turbo at a steady boost rate.
The spring in your wastegate is set to fully open and compress at 10 lbs.
Now - boost controllers work by bleeding off pressure on the SIGNAL LINE to the wastegate... thereby making it see LESS pressure than what there really is. If your gate is set for 10 lbs and you set the boost controller to bleed 3 lbs of boost, you can effectively make 13 lbs of boost because the wastegate itself only sees 10 lbs of boost - it thinks its open at 10 lbs.
This leads you to your problem. Your spring is set for a minimum of 10psi - your boost controller can ADD boost by bleeding off boost, but it can't take it away.
This is why you need a lower spring rate in the 'gate... so you can use the boost controller to bleed boost and add more boost to the equation, giving you more control.
So - that's your misson. New wastegate spring.
Good luck, and as many have pointed out over the past few days of you blundering around with your turbo setup - read read read!!!! Don't drive that car an INCH until you can 100% guarantee you have everything you need man! 10 lb wastegate + no fuel mods + no timing mods = 2.2 litre paperweight.
We've seen it happen before, we'd like to not see it again. Good luck and be careful.

On my wastegate there is usually colors that they go by.
Like my Turbonetics 35 mm is.
Red 5 psi
White 7 psi
Blue 9 psi
and then you have like 4 shims each shim is 1/2 psi extra, more load on the spring.
And you said you are going to get a 4 bar spring?? lol![]()
I guess that would be about 58.6 PSI, god damn man. You go the Summit Cavi beat only running measley 50 PSI.
