hmm i'm interested in this now betweent his and the gm charger hmm i'll ponder upon this.
I have a buddy that works for ATI (ProCharger) and I've discussed their sport compact kits. What you can buy through ATI dealers is a universal kit that you put together (like building a turbo kit). It seems like this shop just buys those universal kits and fabricates them up for application-specifics; the eco's in this case. Seems like a pretty sweet deal. $3600 isn't bad for a "stage 2" blower kit, and I love the way ProChargers sound.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
I'm just glad that somebody else is in the arena for the ecotec that helps us out alot.
Is Speed Mafia a good company to deal with though? Anyone deal with them before? I ask because I am in the market for forced induction, whether it be S/C or Turbo.
whats it driven off of crank, cam what? see they post no under the hood pics

i'd be willing to bet it's crank driven.

procharger (p1sc anyways) are belt driven off the crank, small belt.
just another company selling stuff they dont have ready! and fully tested. I sent him e-mail 2-weeks ago about photos and details--he has NONE!! Who wants to be first?? There is a big thread on Turbo Saturns about this. The guy sounds good but-talkiing it and doing it are diff--SOUNDS LIKE HASS all over again.
looks nice but i prefer my vortech blower and oil feed from the engine
Yup, i love the unmistakeable sound of a Vortech supercharger... a guy i work with has a procharged 01 Cobra and you cant hear it over the engine and any RPM other than idle.... My Vortech is heard from a distance at WOT....

my bro has a 14-71 on his 514 ford, man you gotta here it at wot!!!
I just got an email back from them, they said they would have pics and vids in a couple of days. And through talking to one of my budies he said that these are on a ton of mustangs and they give pretty good numbers. i'll post the link for the pics and vids when i get them.

Prochargers do the same thing

Hello everybody,
Well I called Kevin at SpeedMafia and he is a kick azz GM enthusiats plus exceedingly knowledgable of GM Engines and Prochargers Compressors.
Kevin lays it all out on the line to help you and your goals unlike other companys that just want to make a quick buck. He really doesn't make any money on selling complete Procharger Ecotec kits but earns his business on local installs with the ion and cobalt ecotecs (plus vettes and vipers in the area).
Kevin is all out though to ship anybody a complete Procharger kit far less than competitors asking price to kick some import azz.
The Procharger comes with special features like air-to-air intercoolers and a self contained oil system that runs at 80 degrees at operating temperture.
The Vortech compressor's oil temp has been measured at 200-220 degrees at operating temps because it shares the engines oil.
The CNC Aluminum fan inside the compressor is billet unlike the Vortech's iron unit.
Look forward to working with Kevin torwards a killer P-1SC system.
I'm not exactly a j-body, but i do have the saturn ion
but i've talked to kevin a lot. even check out the posts on www.turbosaturns.net/forum
i'm going to be getting this once i can cough up the $2700. which should be soon.
I'm going to be installing this with 2 of my friends.
1 has rebuilt his 64 impala with a 350 so he knows a lot of mechanical stuff but not any F/I stuff.
the 2nd one has a 95 Eagle Talon AWD TSI and he's pushing mid 12's so he knows a lot about F/I and tuning.
I'll post pics, vids, and me just messing around in the car.
yay.
this thread is worthless without pics

it would be sweet if he offered an EIC system pre-tuned (or any other "good" fuel setup) for the specific kits instead of an fmu. fmu maybe fine for the boost of stage 1 but i dont think that should be anything more than a patch or temp mod. plus selling nice pipes with holes drilled and setup for an eic would be sweet. keep stock everything and just bolt on with a good safe generic tune. then dyno tune it if you want more. i wonder why i dont see more of that. i still hate the idea of the blower depending on a belt but thats just me. self lubed is a great idea. i hope it works out for him. great to see people support our platform.
Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
Pics will be coming tomorrow or this weekend..
Thanks Kevin
Yea I've been going back and forth between the speed mafia kit and the GM kit, although the GM kit is officially out yet unfortunately. It sounds like if you get the GM kit through and installed by GM you can keep your warranty though which is a big plus.
Read, then process the info, think logically, than if you don't have a headache afterwards, post your response

So hope to get the pics to you guys ASAP and so we can go out and eat some rice up! cause i know those damn ecotec's love rice for dinner!
hhaa hhaa hhaa!
Thanks Kev
