as far as i know i am the first to be doing this... if anyone has already done it please show me pics
i am going to try and mock it later
i can't beleive no one has ever put an intercooler on these things
thats because its pointless, your going to lose 1-2psi hooking up an intercooler, run water/alky injection or Cry02 system or nitrous those are all better more efficent ways of cooling down the charge.
Also the added weight of an intercooler with all the piping will make the car even slower
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
why do you think it is pointless??? if that was the case then hooking up an intercooler for a turbo is pointless
remember the rsm supercharger is centrifgal it is basically a turbo with a different mechanism turning the turbine
my supercharger is getting heat soaked really badly in my opinion much worse than the gm supercharger
and i want to do both the water injection and the intercooler but since i have the intercooler and all the piping already i just wanted to see.....
and the intercooler with all the piping maybe weights 10lbs. and 10lb is bs i can take a dump to make up the differance
you lose boost because the air is cooling down not because the air isn't there.....
so even tho i will be losing boost i don't mind since i will be more than making up for it in temp. differance.
I agree I'm running a 2200 turbo set up with a HUGE front mount intercooler and I'm willing to live with "lost boost" to protect my motor and to have a cold charge !!
Way to go ............... lets see some pics when shes done !!
JDM Civic Hatch
Status: Parting Out Turbo Kit....
14.224 @ 102.01MPH @ 5.5psi.... 2.3 60'
Next: Civic JDM B16a2 w/GSR LSD Turbo - Goal 300whp 1400lbs...
put alcohol injection on too... no psi will be lost and your charge will be even cooler.. and it steem cleanes your internals nicly
im running the 2.4 with the vortech and im in the middle of routing my fmic too man,,,, its not fun at all is it.....i am waiting on one reducer and i will be finishing it. i will post pics as soon as i can too. hey i was wondering, are we gunna see that same amount of power gains from this front mount as we would from a turbo?? i was just wondering, i think we definately ought to feel a difference though right?
so far everyone is telling me 15-20hp
how many cfm is your front mount
mine is 750 with a max recommened boost of 12psi
if i were had that setup i would go with the alky/water injection as suggested above. same result and it seems like it would be less of a hassle.
alcohol injection! and yes the aftercooler sounds like a great idea!
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
it is hell this kit was suppose to be for the rsm supercharger..... wrong it's just a bunch of parts................... 800 bucks wasted... my a-hole is blooody red
