...to tell me what to do with... I have a 99 Z24 with a 2000 LD9 in it with 35000 miles. Motor mounts, b&m shiftplus, 2.5 catback... just got $2,500 and want to put in a turbo setup. I was wondering if there was a good complete kit that i should purchase or what. I want it to be intercooled and i dont really have much money to do up the internals as of yet so i was only gonna run on like 6 or 8psi. I would prefer a kit that has all the fuel mods that i need and all the tunning stuff. Basically what would you get with $2,500? I WANT EVERYTHING NEEDED, EVERY LAST BOLT. thanks all
Toilet paper..........lot's and lot's of toilet paper.

go on ebay now, kits up there for cheap.
i have a 99 z i just finished turboing def worth it...and 2500 wont cut it no matter where u go...and dont do ebay their kits suck...um i not sure on the cavalier extreme kits they look decent but if it was me id go all out with the stage 3 kit becuase ull end up needing to buy that crap neways for fuel and u may still need an emanage or safc-2 but thats the way u prolly should go and yes a DP would be needed so add that in there...also if u get it dont be pissed if the pipes they send you dont exactly fit and u need to do alil customizing... but then again idn maybe that are good and you wont. but to me that looks like a pretty ogod kit i mean my custom kit is pretty mucht he same as that just a diff BOV and i have gauges which ud also need. but it looks really good an dlike i said STAGE 3 would be ur best bet...

i already have the needed gauages, i was going to go with the stage 3, where can i get an safc-2 and a DP. also what kind of customizing would i might have to do, welding? thanks
your best bet for the DP would be at a local muffler shop, other things you need to do are drill a tap in the block for an oil return line, cut grille a little to make room for I/C.
you can put together your own kit, and have it completely tuned with E-manage or run Megasquirt, all for under $2500 if you shop right.

My boost project cost me less than $2000 after all was said and done. intercooler, supercharger, injectors, plugs, gauges, reflash, map sensor, everything. It can be done. You just gotta search for deals, and do your homework.

yea but for some reason the GM charger as a whole project cost less then a turbo project. also cant he just go with the 310cc, reflash and the 2 bar map for his turbo project and no safc-2? if you can that would prolly be much easier and cheaper then go with your stage 2 because you wouldnt need the stage 3..mine turbo project wasnt 2k said and done like mike i prolly saw around 3500ish plus a 300$ clutch install but i see u have hte shift plus assuming your running an auto...auto is cool with turbos too because you spooled the whole time constant gas if im wrong with any of my info correct me..so if you can get away with the reflash go ahead you prolly will save a few hundred...my SAFC-2 i purchased brand new on ebay for 235.00 shipped local speedshops wanded 399.00

SAFC-2 is great with a reflash but without a reflash i'd say get a higher level of tuning and go with an E-manage or AEM EMS.

a higher level...many people told me all i needed was a AFPR and a SAFC-2 so that isnt ne good on my 330cc injectors?

if you're using the safc-2 and and an AFPR it'd be a good idea to get an adjustable FMU like the cartech, that way you have a way to tune the fuel system based on boost, as well as rpm with the safc.

will i be ok with the SAFC-2, injectors, and a afpr for now?

whats the best, SAFC-2, injectors, an afpr, and a fmu?
Personally Id do the e-manage... I like it... you can fine tune fuel and ignition to a T and now people got it to do an autotune with hooking it up to a wideband. Not sure what the SAFC is all capable of or how much it is compared to the e-manage... but imo the e-manage works pretty dang good.
everyone told me to buy the SAFC-2 and the E-manage didnt work well ...i shouldnt have jumped the gun because the Emanage is def better. i got mine professionally tuned and its not that bad but he said the E-manage he could have done even better, he personally uses E-manage and recommends that to a lot of his customers, so now im PISSED lol but hey if i get some cash ill prolly switch..as far as injectors i wouldnt go and buy huge ones cuz you'll never use it. im runnin 310CC injectors and they work fine on 9psi and if i bought nethin higher id never need it and just wasted the money...idn thats just me do wat u feel comfortable i mean you said your running 6-8 so you should be fine

it's all in tuning man. if you decide your injectors aren't going to support the power you are making at 9 psi, then you have two options. one option is to tune it at a lower psi level until you are satisfied with air / fuel (another reason to buy a wideband trust me). Or you can order higher flow injectors and wait to tune it later, which is what you are going to want to do anyways if you are set on 9 psi and a certain power level. The choice is up to you, but for anything above about 5 or 6 psi and a base tune, I'd go E-manage over SAFC.
