I made and installed this a couple months ago but never posted any pics until now. My new downpipe and wastegate pipe....... while i was upgrading my turbo i figured i'd go ahead and upgrade my downpipe to a better design as well. All 304 stainless and tig welded (by Protomec), flex section on the wastegate pipe to deal with the stress from expansion, all of it is now wrapped in header wrap and installed on my car. This project turned out to be a hell of a lot more trouble that i thought it would be, Cavaliers just aren't ment to be turbocharged. Comments and questions welcome.

what was wrong with your old one??? are you going to sell it?? I know that it would be for your car but maybe with a little modding it would work for my application. the new one looks great, this is one step that i am leary about right now. so if you do want to sell it then hit me up.

I like it, but it looks like both bungs for the o2 sensor and wideband are in the way of one another. (whichever sensor you put first is blocking the second)
I could be wrong, perhaps they are staggered?
still an impressive looking downpipe!!

I love the way my car sounds dumping into the atmosphere...lol....john deere tractor style...
I like the way your dump is setup though....I just have mine run straight down dumping onto the ground....people always ask stupid questions like if I have a v8 under the hood....
that is pretty.
nice work
looks good, but open dump is the only way to go
i am going open dump. and btw the wastegate dump flex isnt necessary

yeah and like someone else said the 02 bungs are blocking eachother, put your wideband first

open dump is much easier, I plan on doing the same
as far as wastegate dump goes, true it may be unnecessary, but it is a nice precaution to have to prevent cracking.
also, I agree about the O2 sensor bungs... staggering them would be much better, but if you're not going to reweld it, putting the wideband first would definetly be better.
firebug, my old down pipe was 2.5" 400 stainless with ugly mig welds with a 5 bolt turbo flange. Unless you have the exact same turbo manifold as me it will not work for you without cutting it apart. If you want it you can have it.
stevefire (and everyone else), O2 sensors cant not block each other. As long as they are in the exhaust system they are reading all they need to read.
Jay, i wanted to make my car as quiet as possible with killing too much hp. Dumping to atmosphere also makes it VERY hard to hear detonation...
QBE, you don't know @!#$.

oh and you do? you make me laugh....

sorry, I was under the impression they had to be in the stream of the exhaust gases, and not 'blocking' one another.
I'm here to learn just like the rest of us, and I didn't know, thats why I asked.

Phhhh hear detonation. Rock the open dump!
When people hear the wastegate open, they know its game over.
O noes!

If you'd ever heard how loud my car is without the open dump you'd understand.
