Difference Between Wastegate/Blow-Off Valve?

I no this may be a stupid question, but what is the diference between the wastegate, and the BOV? Also, could you install a turbo just with a BOV, and no wastgate? Or can you install a turbo without the BOV, and just have the wastegate? The reason why I ask this is because a company was trying to sell me a turbo mainfold, for a 2.2L motor 95 Chevy Cavalier, but the mainfold didnt have space or the whole where you would install the Wastegate. I have pictures, of what iam tlaking about.

Thanks

Wastegate controls boost levels by letting exhaust bypass the turbine

BOV lets boost pressure escape in the charge pipes when the TB closes and the engine goes into vacuum

usually when that happens the manifold is for an internal wastegate.

Just get an internal and you will be fine. Doesn't really make a difference unless you are running so much boost that it begins to creep. Good luck

Yeah, if you get that manifold, just make sure the turbo you buy (if you haven't already) comes with an internal wastegate.

make sure that you know what you want later on down the road too. doing the extra researching and being patient can save hundreds in the end.

yes, you have to use both a wastegate (either internal'comes on the turbo' or external 'seperate from the tubo) and a BOV.
