engine running strange....

this isn't really a boost problem, but nobody will answer me anywhere else, and i think people in the boost forum know a little more about the engines. I did an intake manifold swap on my 99 Z24 with a quad 4 intake. after installing the intake, my car ran fine at first. it idled and reved normally. but when i start driving it, it begins reving to 3000rpm when i push in the clutch. It stays at 3000 rpm and when i rev it, it goes back down to 3000 rpm. if i shut off the car and restart it, it runs fine again, but as soon as i start driving, it starts doing it again. i cant find any leaks, so im guessing its a sensor or the computer, when the engine is revving at 3000 rpm, there is a lot of vacuum in the manifold becuase some of the hoses start to colapse. could the colapsing hoses be the problem?

I bet your throttle cable is not on correctly. Might be hung up.

wow you people are amazing... i just checked it and you were right. the cable is a little too tight- if i pull up on the gas pedal or close the throttle, it works fine! thank you so much!!! now how do i fix it?

i have the cable going under my battery to the throttle body, but i think it is getting hung up where it meets the bracket b/c it doesn't line up perfectly. ill drill a hole in the bracket for mounting the cable and that should fix the problem. thank you so much- you have no idea how happy i am! if i knew how to put pictures on here i would post one.
