Well I'm sure most of you know I got a new car (THE GOAT) and a lot have been wondering; are you keeping the cav? Yes, I have poored too much time, sweet, blood, money, and yada yada into the car to just give up now.
Here is a quick update on some progress; more pics will come as I take them.
First up;
Fuel.
The fuel lines are complete. -6an stainless steel fittings were tigged to the altered fuel lines. Then the fuel was routed (I called Aeromotive to confirm this):
fuel feed -> rail -> regulator -> fmu -> fuel return
You can also see that the overflow tank is also complete. It will be powder coated (along with many other things) once the car is running, is stable, and I have THE GOAT back.
Header
The firewall was cut in two different places to accept this header. I didn't send the header back because I was tired of d!cking around with people and I knew I wouldn't see it for a long long time, as well as them getting it right the second time wasn't promised. So I took out the dash and heater core so we could cut the firewall.
Also, the header was modified to accept an external wastegate and an egt.
Radiator
It's mounted and is permantely in. It had to be sent back too because they put the wrong size -an fittings on (something like -18 or -20 instead of -16) and they put on a clamp fitting instead of a -6an fitting on one of the ports as well.

Header style turbo manifolds often have more lag than a log style. They flow better on the top-end though and allow for better external wastegate positioning. To decrease lag with a header style manifold you can get it coated by HPC or Jet-Hot. That will result in less heat loss and allow more of the energy to be used to spin up the turbine.

It is some good eye candy...just the fittings are expensive. One thing that is stressed to me by the experienced; Get Aeroequip, pay the extra money! Good luck in getting what you want though!

After I can get the goat back on the road again, the cav will come back down for engine upgrades and more eye candy (including powder coating and jet hotting).

Off the subject a bit, where do you get all of your AN fittings from? Online or local? If online, what site? I need some more braided line and fittings and lol nearest performance shop would be like 200 miles from here.

Thank you. Yea, after a while you just get to the point "f*** it" we'll make it work.
Should have more pics after tonight, I'm going to try and get the dash all back together again... Should be interesting since I took it apart about a 6 months ago. I have to try and find all of the bolts and nust

Innovative turbo ceramic dual ball bearing turbo t3/t4 t04e 60 trim .63 a/r or something like that (got it about 2 years ago, everything is fuzzy now

Just to get the car running I'm just going to throw it on a dyno and adjust the cartech like you said. Later on I'm either going to try and wait for HPturners or go complete standalone.

Lol. The firewall and the header situation reminds me of how desperate I was to get my turbo in my ecotec cavalier. We ended up not cutting into the firewall, because my transmission is an auto and it would be in the way, so I just went with a log turbo manifold. I know how you feel paco. Lots of money, blood, sweat and tears. I think it will pay off. I am anxious to see how yours works out, because my turbo set up is almost like yours. Good luck and keep us updated.

which btw there is an update:
The interior is back together completely, the wires and sensors are ran for the gauges, I just need to mount them temporary, and I found the oil leak. The oil is leaking around the crankshaft seal. Talked with the experts of the group project:
Jack's cuda (last year's paint scheme) and Bobby's stang
New paint job for the cuda
Bobby told me that sometimes if a car sits for a while (year+) the crankshaft can crack and break the seal when you fire it up for the first time.
Tuesday is the next schedule work day for the j. so we'll get an orderlist together. have a good labor day all.

Isn’t the water going from the engine to the turbo to cool it to hot?
I was thinking in doing the same, but I was afraid that instead it removed heat from the turbo it added it.
