Ford Brown Top Injectors?!?!
Tuesday, September 13, 2005 9:30 PM
Hey guys my turbo finally came into and I have yet to hear back from somebody on the org. about there gm s/c injectors. My question is would the Ford Brown tops plug right into the factory injector harness or would it require modification? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Ive heard that the browntop injectors will plug into the factory clips... However, being as your car is a 2001- you have high impedence injectors, whereas the browntops are low impedence.

i have a 99 which also has the high impedance, the ford brown tops will not clip right into your harness. You need 4 clips from a pre 99 car, then cut off your existing injector clips and solder and splice in the pre 99 ones. You can get these from a ford dealership or like me just snag some from a local junk yard for like 5 bucks. The other issue i ran into with the brown tops was i had to use a dremel to grind down my fuel rail a small bit where the injector clip went on to the injector, if i dint it made the injector kink a bit and i had some fuel seapage because of it, now its all fixed and they work great though. Hope that helps man, at this point im pretty much an injector expert lol.

if your 99 and 00+ are high independence, how do you get away using low ind. brown top injectors?

Thats what I want to know...
I've used Brown Tops w/ the reflash before but took them out for Red Tops.
While I had them in they ran fine just the typical problems associated with too much fuel.
I only had them in for a few days though and did not have a wideband or any other monitoring tools so as I have no idea how well they were working, only that the car did still run.

I'd like to hear more as I am hesitant to put this 2.5in pulley on w/ Red Tops... even w/ H2O injection.

so are the red tops 30lbs injectors? so that makes them ~315 cc .. basically the same aas the 310cc s/c ones.

mm.. where can i find 32lbs injectors?

Like people have said, you cant use the brown tops. but you could go with the red tops instead like mentioned.

For the hell of it. I have the new part numbers for the brown tops E7SZ-9FS593-A and the short # is CM4637
