I had purchased a Stage 2 Turbo Kit for my 2000 Cavalier Z24 from Maximum Boost. The purchase process was great! I had a bunch of questions and received quick responses to every one of them. In fact, it was so good that I decided to purchase my FMU and fuel pump from them as well. For having a car that does not have a factory turbo option, this kit fit in nicely. The parts were packaged very well for shipping and arrived faster than I thought they would. With running a safe 5-6 lbs of boost, the car will throw you back in your seat and break the tires loose. Before tuning the waste gate, I was running 10 lbs and the turbo sounded healthy, but since I would be using it on the street as well, I felt that it would be safer at 5-6 lbs. It's amazing how people turn their head as they hear a Cavalier drive past, turbo spooling and blowing off. As my car has been built to be more of a show car, this kit has shown to raise my points as well as to draw in more attention from judges and spectators alike.
Anyways, here's the pictures. Frank wanted me to go ahead and post these up for everyone to finally see!
looks hot man, good job on th post! finally, maybe now you'll start gettin some respect around here!

thanks for the idea on wrapping the intake pipe....i never thought to wrap that when i was wrapping the downpipe.....i still have about 40ft of the wrap to use and now have a use for it.......but im going to wait i want to move the filter to where the battery sits
is that a flexible rubber charge pipe???
I'm sorry but that is a hideous piping setup. That could have been engineered WAY better.
What is with all these companies coming up with horrible piping setups lately?
Crap...

I agree with the hideous pipes comment, my back yard piping looks worlds cleaner. that intake pipe is rediculous lookin

he engineered it for cost not looks. sorry we arent all anal about making our setup look perfect. I think they achieved their goal of cost. if it performs then whats the matter?

Looks good to me..... I think the pipeing is fine.
A turbo kit should be about performance not looks anyway IMO. One quick question though, your oil feed and return lines, are they running strait up and down? I kinda looks like in the one pick that the feed line is cocked back towards the firewall a little bit.... Could just be the angle of the pic, but the feed should be at top dead center and the drain at the very bottom.
Looks good though.

Yeah you can engineer that pipe to have all the perfect bends but its going to raise the cost of the kit, their purpose was to build a decent low cost solution. Looks good so far lets see some Dyno numbers.

glad to see pictures up frank.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
The center section is turn torward the firewall but it doesn't need to be completly vertical. It can have an angle.

Frank, please get a hold of me sometime soon

whats that black hose thing right next to the turbo, and does the charge pipe for the turbo run under the car?
R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
ya the kit doesnt look too bad but i would love to see more pics
thats exactly how my turbo center section is clocked!

isnt that a E bay intake pipe/ coupler on the throttle body?
thats what I thought but hey.. if it gets the job done

Did the downpipe and exhaust come with the kit, or did you need to make it on your own?

I do not think it looks that bad at all. I have seen worse. I would like to see more detailed pictures of how the rest of the piping is ran on the car. Need some dyno numbers. What injectors are you running?

The reason I complain about the piping setup is it runs over the brake booster, and just glancing at it I know of 2 hoods it WON'T clear.
Maybe I'm just picky but a piping setup should be as short and efficient as possible. The less pipe you see, the better.
This is a much better setup than CavConnection's setup (I know they have a new name)... they ran it right over the engine.
I donno. I'm a stickler for details. Your car is supposed to function as a car yes but I am a believer in engineering. Running pipes over items where the engine will rock and the piping will rub = not good for me. But I'm very very picky.
It reflects in the setup that was on my car.
Good job getting pics up, let's see what you guys can do with this kit. I'm not a fan of putting the downpipe on the heatercore side but sometimes you don't have a choice.
Good luck with it.

I understand your point, but I do not see anything that is will rub on. The brake booster does not move. Yes you want the piping to be short, but you also want cooler air for the turbo to breathe. The cooler the air it breathes the cooler the air the motor will breathe. I think the pipe running as the intake is a nice idea. My turbo set-up the filter is on a 90 degree elbow right off the turbo. That is hot air.
