possible solution to alcohol/ water injection prob

ok i was looking at a part i had from my stupid days and i figured it would be perfect for injecting after the TB, i bought one of those helix power tower TB spacers and it was obviously worthless, but would this solve any problems?

the only problem i could see with these are the price of the spacer isnt worth it

oh well, just thought id throw it out there

Why would you want to inject it after the throttle body? Doesn't have much time to atomize then...

Actually no that is where you want to put it believe me... I ran mine before the throttle body and some of the alcohol had run down the butterfly valve shaft into the TPS sensor and @!#$ it up to the point where i would be driving along and all of a sudden it would just read %20 throttle when i would be foot to the floor... not a fun time trust me

There is plenty of time for the alcohol to atomize i tried to order one of thoughs plates a while back but Gravana couldn't get any in...

yeah id think it would be pretty easy to tap and put the injector right in

Yea the way I see it, that would work. Sure, it'd have less time to atomize, but I forsee less troubles.

or you can save your money and put it b4 your t/b.

i think the people with the TPS problems have injected way to much fluid /no idea on how much they are using.

i remember josh had some SMC kit where he was unsure on the amount going through the engine/ what is enough.

chris tatesh had drilled out his injector to make it flow more.

so no crap you are going to have tps sensor issues when you are uncertain/ injecting too much fluid through the t/b.

with the coolingmist.com injector/ engine run up,, they are such a fine mist going into the t/b at wide open throttle that there is no way for it to go other places. THUS i havent had a issue, and alot of other people with the coolingmist set up or MR pute's custom set up where he knew exactly how much he was injecting.

ya but it made it cool down alot better and i was running 10 mor degrees timing... i solved the problem by creating a small vac leak so water wouldent drain down the throttle shaft.

I was running straight methanol with the nozzle before the throttle body for over 1 year without any problems from the TPS.

For those injecting before the TB and having TPS problems, fix the seal on your TB bearing. Pull it out and goop some rtv sealant on the bore the bearing fits into as well as the inner bore of the bear itself that the butterfly axle goes through. The bearing itself is a sealed bearing so there shouldn't be anything leaking through it but rather just down the inner and outer sides of it. Problem solved.

Out of 9 months of daily driving (2 months of which I was injecting a massive 1000cc of alochol....don't even ask) through winter, spring, and then summer, I NEVER had one single problem.
