not sure what fits, but mantapart has a couple listed in the beretta section of there website. one is a thoresen and i believe the other is an auburn. both are expensive. <br>

yeah i thought mantapart had a torsen but it says only for the HM282. i sent them an email to ask if it will work, i will post the responce. i dont think the auburn is an actual dif. thanks for the reply. i will post when they reply. thanks again <br>

i want to go with an ACTUAL differencial. Not put little springs inside my crappy isuzu differencial. id rather pay the extra and do it right the first time. also it looks like mantapart no longer has these difs. so for all the info i have the only ACTUAL LSD's we can get are either in the GP for the Isuzu Quaife's or needle in a haystack for the scx torsen lsd's or quaifes for the new getrag (00+). if anyone wants to add they may feel free <br>

Quaife , they make a differencial for your tranny here's the e-mail they sent me back last week i was asking them about the Getrag Tranny which they don't carry yet. but they do carry the isuzu tranny. Karo is using this LSD right now on his car.

but i think i might have to clarify myself. i dont want one for my isuzu which i have now. i am weighing the 00+ getrag swap over the new venture. i know they make one for the 00+ getrag. i was wondering about the new venture (from a 93-94 quad 4 application) which is an easier swap and hes been done and well documented.. <br>

ask for Jeff he is the guy who does the LSD's at EP.
these diffs will work for any 89-94 HM282/NVG 5tm40/ NVT 550/ old style Getrag/Muncie trans.
they are also working on Isuzu LSD's as well.

LOL i never said those products were crappy at all.. i said my ISUZU dif was crappy. the dif is what im woried about so i wanted to replace that. i know about the older one in the storm but i was hoping for some info on the new venture. thanks again for your inputs. <br>

or do you just want it gone completely. <br>
i would like it to be gone.. if i one day get to the point of needing a beefed trans i would rather beef one that is worth beefing..

I would swap in an HM282 or an old 550, better tranny to begin with, not to mention better ratios! Only different I know of is slightly different shift linkage which just needs a fabbed simple bracket to work. Worth lookin into cuz I know I can pick em up cheap as hell. <br>
i dont wanna go through the work of the hm282 when the nvg if much easier swap for us w/ the slave setup and all. i still dont know. if i can find one of those torsen units this decision will make itself. and probably for 1/2 the price of the quaife alone. in that is probably the plan. up until i really need it, look for the torsen. if none present themselves, then go the other way.. <br>

We have the HM282 in my '98 Z. I did get ahold of a Torsen LSD which was "suppose" to fit the HM282 from the Grand Am, etc.., but it does not fit. Just FYI.
I also believe the EP "LSD" is a phantom grip type thing as well. Just from looking at the pics on their website, that's what it seems like.

Here is EP's response to
The Engineered Performance limited slip differential is a clutch-type, pre-loaded limited slip. It is neither like the Quaife or the PG.
It works just like the old-fashioned limited-slips ("Posi") of days past. The axles are forced to run together by a pre-load spring plate acting against the side gears and clutches. At low (vehicle)speed in a turn, the weight of the car overcomes the pre-load force and the clutches "slip", allowing the axles to turn at different speeds. If, in a turn, the input torque is a higher force than the weight of the vehicle, the tires will try to turn at the same speed. This eliminates the inside tire spinning out of control and the car standing still. In a straight line, both tires will turn all the time, regardless of available traction under each wheel.
Example:
one tire is on wet pavement, one on dry. With a standard diff, the tire on the wet will start to spin (left OR right). With our limited slip, both tires will turn at the same speed, which means the low traction "wet" tire will NOT spin AND the high traction "dry" tire will pull the car. At the drag strip, the limited slip divides the output torque of the transmission b/t the two front tires, so they are less likely to spin. And if they DO spin, they will both spin, enabling the engine to quickly rev past the point of "break-away torque" and into a higher rpm where wheel spin is less likely. This results in quicker acceleration. Our limited slip nearly eliminates the torque-steer (roaming from side-to-side or pulling to the right) associated with high performance FWD cars, as the output torque is evenly divided b/t the front wheels.
Our limited slip is imperceptible in daily driving (unless you WANT to know its there!). It does NOT affect steering effort. It does not require "staging" as other non-pre-loaded units do.
