i was recently looking for transmissions.. most of which i found are out of a 96-97 grand am/sunfire/cavalier i have a 96 Z24 cavalier n was wondering if say i used one from a grand am or sunfire if it is exactly the same.. ie.. gears ect as long as i will not lose any performance.. or is there something to do better since i already need a tranny? any suggestions would help it will be about 900.00 to put in a tranny from a 96 grand am with about 58k miles.. is that a good price is there something better? please let me know thank you

Is this auto or 5spd? and $900 is that for someone to do it for you?? because you should be able to come up with a tranny cheaper I would htink .
